2 kids age 8 and 6 would like the pool out ive said no because its not really an appropriate time there in school every day untill 4 we have plans this weekend so it won't get used and then next week when they finish school on Thursday- on Friday were away for 5 days so its not practical then either id be putting it up blowing it up and filling it pretty deep for them pretty much not to use it as its far too hot after school at the moment and we have to get on with the evening things dinner baths after school clubs which are Tuesday and weds and then bed. Plus the amount of water it uses costs!

Anyway a friend said im being unfair and should let them have it up

Is your pool up ???
I'll happily put it up when we come back from holiday because then they've got all day in it for 4 weeks untill another holiday we've got

FFS, just put the sodding pool out!

If not now, when!?

Mommabear20 · 14/07/2022 10:47

Why would you not put the pool up in a heatwave? My DH is pretty miserable with these kinds of things and even he has put our pool up without me asking!

RollingInTheCreek · 14/07/2022 10:53

OP I do get it you're not just being a misery! I have a love hate relationship with paddling pools! Ours was filthy and 90% grass so I emptied it last night, not planning on refilling the next 2 days as in the NW and the weather is cloudy and cooler today and tomorrow. I will fill it saturday morning and leave it up until at least Tuesday as it'll get used over the weekend and definitely Mon/Tues after school as it's going to be boiling!! Not sure about it being too hot for the pool (unless you mean too hot for the effort of it which I understand tbf). If it's that warm I'd do it and get the mum win. Especially if it's now a big surprise! :)

Mariposista · 14/07/2022 10:56

Gosh how uptight. Sounds like YOU can't be bothered with the hassle and are looking for every excuse possible. Nice try - get the pool out!

Somethingneedstochange · 14/07/2022 10:57

Do you not have a cover for it? You could leave it up while away but just empty the water and refill when you get back.

MrsRinaDecker · 14/07/2022 11:00

Yay! Glad you have decided to get it out.. Although I do sympathise with the hassle factor.. We didn’t have an outdoor tap / hosepipe, so filling the pool for us was always a huge palaver with lots of buckets and basins (and then the dc would still whine about the temperature or ignore it after 5 minutes 🙄)
Bet your lot are super excited when they get home today though!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 14/07/2022 11:05

After school is the perfect time IMO. How often is it really warm enough anyway? Get the use out of it while you can.

Kennykenkencat · 14/07/2022 11:19

Stick some bubble bath in it and don’t bother with the bath bit of dinner bath and after school clubs.🤣
Make some sandwiches and they can eat them in the garden.

i usually get home from work at 9pm and would love to jump into a pool probably fully clothed.

Save on the washing machine going off each day

43prego · 14/07/2022 11:21

Just fill it up to a little water as you can. Or have them have a bath with swimwear.

43prego · 14/07/2022 11:23

Get in in too! Fun is not just for the kids.

Yes YABU, the grinch who stole summer.

This 😂 sorry but it's true. Go and play in it with them after school. It's hot and miserable and they are only little once.

toobusytothink · 14/07/2022 11:27

PUT IT UP, PUT IT UP 😄🙌

Karmabites · 14/07/2022 11:28

Get it out , fill it up and let them enjoy the few days of hot weather there is. It won't last long. Poor little mites

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 14/07/2022 13:05

Well I don't have a heatwave at all at the moment. I'm in Wales and it's 20 degrees today. But after Tuesday rain and thunderstorms are forecast so if you're going to get it out, now is the time is what I was saying.

RiverSkater · 14/07/2022 15:27

Yes, the weather will be rubbish as soon as they finish school!

Get the pool out!!!
