Couldn’t find another one but found about 10 complaining about it.

I am living my best life. I hate cold, rain, miserable grey wet weather, hate wrapping up in layers, wearing socks and shoes (I could go on)

I love the sun on my face, going for walks in the early morning and evening, eating outdoors, seeing kids get excited about water pistols and paddling pools. Eating salads and loads of fruit, wearing sandals or no shoes at all. Being able to leave the cushions on the garden furniture without worrying about them being rained on.

Anyone else enjoying this?

(If there is another existing thread can someone link to it and I will request this one be deleted)

I washed and dried a school blazer today, in one day. It usually takes ages to dry; today, about 25 minutes. 🌞

When it's dark at 4.30 the evenings seem so long.

When it's light till late you can go out for a walk in the evening. No way would you do that in the evening.

Lovely to hear the birds singing too.

I love this thread.

I love hot weather!

I'm loving this in particular because the last time we had a run of good weather we had horrible, noisy neighbors that ruined it. Consequently, I grew to dread good weather.

Now though after a sunday lunch in a pub I was looking forward to sitting in the sun and then having the french doors open to let air in.

Bubblebubblebah · 10/07/2022 22:03

I am trying to remember at which point I entered the proper adulthood and started getting excited about being able to do 3 full waahing loads in one day due to heath and breeze combo😂

SandieCollins · 10/07/2022 22:04

@user1471538283 sounds like you really deserve this time.

@girlfriend44 yes! Birds singing - how could I have forgotten to mention that

I love it! People (Brits) pay a fortune to go on holiday somewhere warm and the complain when they get it for free at home!
It will be cold and wet again soon enough - enjoy it while you can I say!

My solar panels are churning out free electricity.
my washing is drying on the line.
my doors are open to give the house a good air.
The evenings are so light I don’t need to turn the lights on at at least 9pm.
great weather for eating salads and cold food so I don’t need to cook or turn the oven on.
managed to get all the curtains down and washed and dried in a day. Come up really good so where I was going to buy new I will just add a heavier line ing for the winter.

Snap.

I love wearing summer dresses, shorts, sandals etc. I love not spending ages putting on coats, boots, scarves, gloves and hats before leaving the house.

My sweet peas and honeysuckle smell heavenly, and we enjoy spectacular sunsets across the valley.

Because DH would've loved it and he's not here to enjoy it. He would've driven me mad with his "It's a beautiful day!" comments 100 times a day mind you.

girlfriend44 · 10/07/2022 22:15

Red sky's at night.

5128gap · 10/07/2022 22:30

Love everything you've listed OP. But my particular favourite is the suspension of routine boring stuff because it's TOO HOT!!!
No hoovering, cooking, gardening or DIY at home and shorter meetings and ice lollies at work.

Sounds like I would have got on well with your husband! Do you find yourself thinking ‘it’s a beautiful day’ now or just remembering him saying it?

Sitting in my garden right now with a cold glass of wine, enjoying the smell of the jasmine.

Snap! Love my jasmine... And my wine xx

onlythreenow · 10/07/2022 22:49

I love it , hate the cold - hate getting out of a hot shower and shivering , hate wearing umpteen layers

Yep. This is my reality at the moment in the southern hemisphere. While I moan and grumble when it's too hot I really can't wait for warmer weather. Life is just so much easier and more pleasant. Oh well, off to break the ice on the pets outside water bowl. Enjoy your lovely weather everyone.

bloodywhitecat · 10/07/2022 22:49

@SandieCollins I do look at the sky and think just that. On cold grey days he would text me to tell me to light the fire, stay warm and not worry about walking the dog because he'd do it when he got in from work!

UndertheCedartree · 10/07/2022 22:52

Been at the beach all day - love it! ☀️

Stopandlook · 10/07/2022 22:55

Oh I just love it - no reasons needed! Everyone is more laid back, long drawn out evenings, birds singing.
I burn easily so have to be careful but I enjoy it from the shade. Even when heavily pregnant I refused to complain about a good summer!

Fordian · 10/07/2022 23:00

Love, love, love it.

Sunshine on my skin; blue, blue sky.

FunnysInLaJardin · 10/07/2022 23:04

I am loving the weather. 29 here today.

We gets to swim in the sea before dinner, wear summer clothes, have all the doors and windows open and be glad of the cool evening. Basically feel like we are on holiday. It is bliss!

oh yes and snoozing in the garden because its too hot to do anything else. Like an enforced pause!

ilovesooty · 11/07/2022 00:05

Love being able to read in the garden and have my meals outside. Wonderful to be able to throw on a thin summer dress or shorts and a vest top.

girlfriend44 · 11/07/2022 00:12

Lots of British strawberries very tasty at the moment.

haringthroughlife · 11/07/2022 01:59

Lots of men with their lovely, crisp white shirt sleeves rolled up on my commute to work

Giggorata · 11/07/2022 02:47

Living like this is heavenly! Even though I am a fair skinned person and am always in the shade, I love the sunny weather, and love looking at it from under my parasol.
Freedom to wear light wafty clothing, rather than bundle up through necessity. Windows and doors open to the air, the house airy and fresh. Strolling from the shower rather than making a miserable shivering dash for warmth, leaving hair to dry naturally, often in the garden.
Lovely flowers in the garden and pots, colour by day and scent by night.
Newly fledged birds singing everywhere, including my beloved swifts at last, screaming across the sky. To me, they mean summer.
Not much cooking, salads and ice cream. Fruit and vegetables growing in the garden. Butterflies flitting about.
Washing drying quickly and easily. Festivals and camps and alfresco plays.
Not having to worry about heating bills, or damp.
The living really is easy.

All those people looking forward to the cold and dark times, remember how hard and expensive this winter will be.
You can't snuggle up to an empty hearth. It takes forever to get washing dry if you can't afford to run a dehumidifier or tumble dryer. Keeping yourself washed and clean in a cold wintry house becomes a survival exercise. Inadequately heated houses become damp.
Winter is only tolerable if you have enough money to keep warm and well fed.

tobee · 11/07/2022 04:09

I love it too! Grin

Love the long days, warm evenings. Last year was pretty rubbish so it's a real treat. Also, at the moment it's a pleasant heat, not outrageously sweaty and humid. Hope it stays like this. Beautiful British summer day. Reminds me of happy childhood days! Wink
