WWYD - Salary or flexibility?

Name changed as don't want to link this to other posts.

£45k per annum job - loads of flexibility, only work 4 days - my current job (took step back after children)
£75 per annum job - less flex, full time - potential new job

2 x young children (pre-school). Plenty of savings for emergencies. Generally enough money but not swimming in it! I am the one in the household with the most earning potential - I could keep increasing my salary if I wanted to.

Would you take the money or keep the chilled out life?

Any chance you're still around OP and can update us on what you decided and how it worked out?

I'm in exactly the same predicament - 45k 4 days a week in current job vs 70k full time in potential new job - and can't for the life of me decide what to do!

I worked part time for a decade until both kids were past year3 level to go back full time. Rather than focus on part/full time I'd focus on the pressure in the role. If it's a high pressure role then don't take it, even for more money. If it's manageable pressure then full time is doable given hybrid working etc. could be best of both worlds.

I took the flex as DHs job had no flex whatsoever (strict shift work) so we had no choice really. Neither of us are on high wages but now I am earning better than ever and have flex.

I could earn much more commuting into the city on long hours with more stress but I don't want to. I'm happy earning an average wage in a low stress flexible wfh job with perks for a nice company.
