People are struggling, prices of everyday items climbing every week (more so than in other developed countries). Everyone's spirit appears to be low. The jubilee weekend raised spirits a little but only temporarily.
Yes, post pandemic fatigue is probably a factor but I can't think of a single thing this government has done that has improved the lives of ordinary working people. In fact, quite the opposite.

(Come at me Tory troll farms)

Most people conveniently ignoring the impact of Covid lockdowns. Not Covid itself, but the lockdowns.

I wonder if the curtain twitchers who couldn’t enough of the lockdowns are now realising what long term damage this policy caused. In this forum alone, there wasn’t a day that went by when someone wasn’t moaning that the lockdowns were not tough enough. Well folks, locking up healthy people, printing money to pay for then sit to at home means the chicken are coming home to roost.

Sure, people died, but it would have been worse if we all weren't vaccinated, I mean locked down.

Well well well the government who can do no wrong are losing their own pretty rapidly today 🤦‍♀️ almost like even they realise they are ruining the country

Crikeyalmighty · 05/07/2022 18:37

Well it's going splendidly tonight for the Tory trolls/press office on here!!

Crikeyalmighty · 05/07/2022 18:38

This is just a pathetic gov bashing thread, and it’s boring and not remotely attached to the real reasons we are in this position. Sad.

Guessing we’ve seen the last of you for a bit. It must be pandemonium in Downing Street right now.

BlackTourmaline · 05/07/2022 19:13

Rats deserting the sinking ship 😂

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 19:14

Who will be the new chancellor?

Provenceinthesummer · 05/07/2022 19:16

Snap election coming next….
I can’t see Labour winning…..

Please don't pretend that the transport strikes are about well paid train drivers. By now the dogs on the street know that they represent a tiny minority of the workers who are striking - cleaners, conductors, ticket-office personnel etc etc, the vast majority of whom earn a pittance.

Who will be the new chancellor?

Nadine Dorries.😱😆

It'll be interesting to see what Dominic "abortion rights aren't necessary" Raab does next.

the80sweregreat · 05/07/2022 19:48

If Starmer and Angela have to resign over beer gate then we are all rudderless all round !
It might happen

TooBigForMyBoots · 05/07/2022 19:54

I take it back, Patel for Chancellor and Nadine to be given Health. Cos she was a nurse.

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 10:03

Yes we could end up in the incredible position of being rudderless and leaderless in both of the main parties.

The Russians must be clapping their hands with glee!

the80sweregreat · 06/07/2022 13:33

I heard something on lbc about Durham police and the fines ? Is it meant to be this week they decide on all that ? That has taken ages too

the80sweregreat · 06/07/2022 13:45

I can see a GE looming , the conservatives will win with a reduced majority.
There is a lot more support for Boris Johnson outside in the real world (away from this forum. )
I think they will bribe with tax cuts and the moon on a stick and the people will follow.
It wouldn't surprise me.

The polls don’t support that. This one was before Sunak and Javid resigned.

Because they're to busy being perverts, shoving cocaine up their noses and paying their mates off.

We need a new government. The whole thing needs shaking up, let the little parties have a chance of becoming government. I'm sick to death of the tories and Labour and Lib Dem are useless.

we have a Lib Dem MP and she is brilliant - hard working and very popular locally. Used to have a useless Tory who was never here and didn’t do anything at national level either.

We need more like our lib dem MP and the uk will be a better place. Give them a try.

theyhavenothingbuttheaudacity · 06/07/2022 14:11

I've always voted Lib Dem but I get sick of the 'wasted vote' crap you get for it

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 15:28

That’s because lin dems are a fringe party at next and close to collapse just a few months ago

Provenceinthesummer · 06/07/2022 15:28

Lib Dems

Yet they seem to be winning every by election - even in classic Tory places like Devon and Amersham. The tories are hopeless - we need to vote for decent MPs and that might mean a Lib Dem not some Tory puppet

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/07/2022 16:25

Was it the Lib Dems that took North Shropshire?

Its the tories collapsing before our eyes

a party is only fringe if we want it to be. Other counties manage to have diverse parliaments and collaborative decision making. We are stuck in old Victorian party systems - it’s so dated.

vote for the best MP you have - hopefully a decent person who lives in your constituency and it might work out. Get rid of these dodgy Tory career politicians who really don’t care about constituents - or the country at this point
