I do have an iPhone but I just like pen and paper, is anyone the same?

I am, quite possibly, the most forgetful person in the whole world so yes, I use a planner as I'd forget everything if I didn't write it down!

I've got a new one to start in September; like this year's, it has a week to a page, a section for financial planning each month and a monthly overview each month and it also has a notes and passwords section.

What do you mean by too dependant? Interested in this lol!

@JoolsHoneybee - yes I have a Filofax that I use as a birthday / anniversary planner. And a wall calendar in the kitchen for appointments etc.

DreamingofItaly2023 · 01/07/2022 17:22

Without my Filofax our family life would fall apart. I could never get on with electronic calendars, to do lists etc.

Fairislefandango · 01/07/2022 17:26

It's funny really. I'm not at all a technophobe. I like having apps for all sorts of things. But I am absolutely in love with paper planners, nice stationery and writing things down! I tried all sorts of digital calendars, organisational apps etc and I just can't get on with them at all. I find them inflexible, restrictive, intangible and kind of boring. Plus writing things down helps you remember them!

FlorianImogen · 01/07/2022 17:28

I've had my Filofax since the (Yuppy) '80's - wouldn't be without it!

ps I had a Golf Gti in the '80's too! 🤣🤣

FlorianImogen · 01/07/2022 17:29

I duplicate everything on my iPhone too!

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 01/07/2022 17:30

I adore my Filofax.

Cranefliesthinkthecarroofiswater · 01/07/2022 17:35

I have a note book where I write reminders and keep records of work stuff. Also many bits of scrap paper on my desk with phone numbers, dates and whatnot scribbled on them.

I write in pencil and always have. I enjoy writing by hand and using a pencil feels really good. There is a very pleasing smoothness to it.

Fairislefandango · 01/07/2022 17:36

I hate writing with a pencil! Fountain pen all the way for me!

LanieM87 · 01/07/2022 17:37

I was an avid paper planner, I went through several Filofaxes and then moved over to Happy Planner, however for the past few months I've gone digital and now use a digital planner on my iPad which syncs across to my iPhone. I use an Apple Pencil dupe and it's honestly so much better. I find I use it more because I can colour code and use stickers with just two items.

I honestly never thought I'd go digital!

Spanielsarepainless · 01/07/2022 17:37

I love my (paper) diary, bought by a friend every single year.

Cranefliesthinkthecarroofiswater · 01/07/2022 17:39

I used to use a fountain pen all the time and still have a few of them, but changed to pencil as a student when I started doing a lot of note taking in lectures and it stuck.

This is what I bought: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07XNDKDRN?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

PumpkinSpicedLatte22 · 01/07/2022 17:59

I make my own monthly planners/organizers plus I have a bullet journal, helps me stay organised and keep track of everything, I'd be a mess without them as my mind can't hold onto any important information for more than 13 seconds. I do also make notes or checklists in my phone and use several apps as it's quicker and often more convenient especially if I'm at work or out somewhere.

CrepuscularCritter · 01/07/2022 18:00

I keep a bullet journal in a Moleskine, plus a 2 pages per day A4 diary for work. It keeps most things under control... Blush

Blowthemandown · 01/07/2022 21:13

@JoolsHoneybee literally got into a state or panic if I couldn’t find it within like 10 seconds, couldn’t do anything without consulting it 🤨

Blowthemandown · 01/07/2022 21:14

@Fairislefandango not for me - left handed so too easy to smudge …!

Aquamarine1029 · 01/07/2022 21:17

I do. Have always used a paper diary/planner for work and always will.

withiceplease · 01/07/2022 21:32

I've had a Filofax since the mid 80's
Tried on phone but I find it much easier on paper (e.g counting weeks ahead and to skim through the week)
Do meal plans and home stuff as well as work

DaisyWaldron · 01/07/2022 21:37

I'm another bullet journal person. I generally use the cheap bullet journal dot grid notebooks from Flyer Tiger.
