The title.

I do have all those things but if I didn't, maybe there would be a close friend? Or a cause I felt strongly about? Failing that, a cat charity. 😆

iwanttobeasquare · 30/06/2022 13:54

My local hospital I think.

DenholmElliot1 · 30/06/2022 13:55

I'd split it between Macmillan and my local cats protection league

Aposterhasnoname · 30/06/2022 13:56

The dogs trust.

chipsandpeas · 30/06/2022 13:58

LadyCampanulaTottington · 30/06/2022 13:58

My local cat charity.

HorseInTheHouse · 30/06/2022 13:59

My local university or a women's charity.

SuzyQ12 · 30/06/2022 13:59

Friends, children of friends or a good cause (or mixture of, most likely)

Costacoffeeplease · 30/06/2022 14:01

Small local charities

OurChristmasMiracle · 30/06/2022 14:01

If I literally had no one to leave it to then
st Christopher’s hospice (my dad passed there and they do amazing work)
redwings horse sanctuary (mum dad and me all love(d) horses)
domestic abuse charity or charities
Tommy’s charity and Emily’s star.

I would hope whatever I did have could help others not human and non human

Iwonder08 · 30/06/2022 14:02

I would spend it all while I am alive

IncompleteSenten · 30/06/2022 14:02

A small local charity.

SpaghettiArmsMurderer · 30/06/2022 14:02

The Against Malaria Foundation and Schistosomiasis Control Initiative - the same charities I give to regularly as an effective altruist.

gabagoulghost · 30/06/2022 14:03

Our local Wood Green animal shelter.

Same. I’d lie on my deathbed wrapped in Hermes scarves.

TheGoogleMum · 30/06/2022 14:05

Friends? Or charity that means something to you?

Misstes · 30/06/2022 14:05

I would spend the lot. Live my life to the fullest if I had no one else to support.

Vikinga · 30/06/2022 14:06

My best friend will be in that situation and she has a lot of money and assets. She has said charities and friends and children of friends.

sammylady37 · 30/06/2022 14:07

I don’t (and won’t) have children or a spouse/partner.

I’ve bequeathed my assets to some (not all) of my siblings, my nieces& nephews and my friends, as well as leaving a large chunk to charity.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 30/06/2022 14:09

Currently to my best friend, in order for her to help her daughter if she doesn’t need it herself. But if circumstances change, it will be a local cat or dog charity. Not one of the bigger ones.

Penguinsaregreat · 30/06/2022 14:10

I would spend quite a bit.
Treat myself and upgrade all trips. Pay for first class, fast tack etc.
I wouldn’t be bothered about saving my hard earned monty for a distant relative etc.
Then I would probably leave done to a charity of choice .

KarrotKake · 30/06/2022 14:12

Since he isn't around to inherit it, my brothers share is being split between the Samaritans and MIND. So I guess that would be my parents stance.

A charity that had helped me, I guess.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 30/06/2022 14:12

I’ve been wondering about this recently, and it’s led to considerable head scratching. So many institutions and charities have adopted the Stonewall line, which is anathema to me.
I went to an alumnae event recently, intended to attract legacies. In the women’s loo there was a framed poster ( not graffiti or a sticker) which declared TWAW ( it was in full, but I don’t want to be modded.) . How can I leave money to an academic institution which proclaims such……rubbish? That statement goes against every previous guiding principle of that institution.

so many charities have, to say the least, some dodgy renumeration policies, and have become far too party political . The Anglican Church , to which I had belonged since birth, is just a laughing stock.

so I’m stumped, really. Perhaps if I can hang on a bit longer, some worthy cause will appear.

3peassuit · 30/06/2022 14:16

I think I’d divide it between The Red Cross, The Samaritans, MSF and Cancer Research with smaller amounts to local charities.

Marvellousmadness · 30/06/2022 14:19

Charity.
