I'll go first....

If you are feeling low, do something for someone else. Not because you have too, but because you can. I promise you will walk away feeling more inspired than you did before! Just be kind in life, it's so rewarding.

If you want a nice soft boiled egg, turn it pointy side down in the egg cup and cut off the flatter end. The yolk is easier to get to and it doesn’t carry on cooking so stays liquid (took me over 40 years to discover this!)

LifesTooShortForYourNonsense · 22/06/2022 17:56

Live simply. Only use what you need. Free up space. Be bored, it’s ok.

'Be bored'

This is such amazing advice, and so deep. All creativity comes from boredom. In today's world, you have to make an effort to create the space for creativity to come in. It's only when you're bored, and alone, that amazing pieces of music get written, amazing artistic creations get created. Nobody does that stuff at a party. The party is valuable, sure, but the quiet, still processing afterwards is where the value is.

Wish I'd started HRT and testosterone in my mid-40s and found out more about perimenopause and how it can hit when you're quite young!

Momicrone · 22/06/2022 18:19

Take the stairs

I like this. I don't get bored actually - I find it hard to understand how people get bored. There's a whole world of things inside your head to think about, millions of books to read, unlimited ways of keeping yourself occupied.

Sandflea9900 · 22/06/2022 18:23

Don’t skimp when buying shoes or beds. If you’re not in one, you’re in the other.

notanothertakeaway · 22/06/2022 18:25

Be polite and friendly to everyone , but don't be a pushover

If you don't respect yourself others won't respect you

Newusername3kidss · 22/06/2022 18:31

Wear the god damn shorts.

RenoSusan · 22/06/2022 18:35

Not making a decision means the universe is making decisions for you. If you make all your own decisions, then odds are most of them are great!

Buy the red lipstick
Drink the cava
Be inappropriate

Yes to the first two, definitely No to the last suggestion 🤔 bit of an odd one that.

Changednamesorry · 21/06/2022 08:18

Stay away from hormonal contraception.

No this is a shitty suggestion, I would have topped myself without the hormonal regulation of the pill. It works for some people and not for others and that's OK.

Justwanttobebythesea · 22/06/2022 18:41

When going up and downstairs always take something with you that needs to be up or down

Paper towel in a bag of salad stops it going mushy as the paper towel absorbs the moisture so the salad lasts longer

me109f · 22/06/2022 18:43

Brush your teeth at least every day and before bed.
Wash your dirty bits before bed, especially your feet.
Wear clean undies every day.
Avoid fatty, salty sweet foods as much as you can.
Restrain drinking alcohol as much as possible.
Take exercise.

Poweb · 22/06/2022 18:46

Self reflect and always try to improve yourself. Not in a financial or material way, just who you are a human being. There’s always room for improvement!

Save up for and spend on things you really, really want, whether that be a year's backpacking, education or a lovely home. Be ruthlessly frugal about everything else, including booze, boys, cars, gadgets and clothes you won't wear more than five times. Once you have money, keep quiet about it or someone will try to take it off you.

One more thing: So-called bad boys are strictly for casual sex. Do not marry them, move in with them, let them move in with you, have a baby with them, travel with them or give them money for drugs or rent. They do get very boring very quickly and usually can't dance for shit.

Where were you when I was twenty?!

Poweb · 22/06/2022 18:50

Also, admit your mistakes.

RagzRebooted · 22/06/2022 18:52

My tip is listen to The Sunscreen Song and live by it!

Tabitha005 · 22/06/2022 18:57

I do not need everyone to like me.

SmurfysLaw · 22/06/2022 19:00

When I wash my face over the bathroom sink I use wrist sweatbands to stop the water dripping down my arms.

hiredandsqueak · 22/06/2022 19:00

If a task is only going to take five minutes do it straight away, don't put it off because it's only something minor.

ilovegranny · 22/06/2022 19:01

3 pieces of advice I give to all my young relatives; never, ever start smoking. Save a little each month even if it’s only a tenner. Never, under any circumstances, engage in conversation with a sweet old lady from another country whilst staying in a hotel. It took me ten years to extricate myself.

Legallyblonde77 · 22/06/2022 19:05

Belated reply. I bought a necklace with a rose on to remind me to smell the roses. Years ago I was rushing around With DS in a pushchair. For some reason I caught myself and looked up at glorious sunshine and blue skies and magnificent trees and had a word with myself for rushing and missing the beauty. The necklace serves as a frequent reminder
