Hi All.
Quick question..is anyone sat outside today in this glorious weather actually enjoying themselves? It is purgatory here! I started by sitting in my garden, kids at school complete peace and quiet with a cuppa and a book delirously content and happily minding my own business then all hell breaks loose. Next door get out the hedge trimmer and lawn mower.Marvelous,Then next door the other way decide to strim their garden. Those behind us have a tree surgeon in and omg I swear my ears could bleed,There is a radio playing loudly somewhere and I give in. I had 20 mins and 5 hrs later its all still going on, In a dramatic turn I slammed my door went inside and threw a tantrum with myself! Add to this joyous morning himself who is on the last 12 hr night shift of a 60 hr week was woken up with little sleep and has a gob on him like no ones business but to be fair I cannot blame him. If you are enjoying your garden today cos I am not I hope you are enjoying it!!! Aibu to just want a rant?

Gosh I like it. Walking the dogs last night about 10pm, going past a few garden parties, hearing a few people laughing at a tv program etc. I live in a terraced house and it's only quiet at about 5am. I like the sound of life around me, be it human or feathered or even canine.
Tree surgeons are loud, but rarely are around for long.

I get OP it, we finally moved last summer after nearly 20 years of living in flats (with a Juliette balcony for outside side ) into a house. We endured 3 different lockdown renovations in our block. The loudest one being right underneath us & then the owners moved in it was party central!! We’re lucky with our neighbours either side no kids & one side has dogs that don’t bark (thank god 😂) I love just being able to walk outside in to a garden space 😌 it’s a really quiet road mainly people their in 50s & over (our family 1 dd 9 & we’re in 30s) LOVE the peace even if we’re probably the noisiest ones now but we always check with our neighbours if we have friends/family over we try & keep the noise to a decent level - even made sure our trampoline wasnt encroaching on the neighbour one side. But there’s new family moved in across the street a few doors down, omg everything they do is loud cars, motor bikes, quad bikes!! Their poor neighbours are having to move already (not attached) because of the noise! Could hear their basey music across the road inside & outside y’day! Some People have no consideration. Although I do like the sound of a garden mower 😊
