To tell you my baby has just been born?!

My DH has had to go home to see the dogs and will be back later with DS 4 so for now I am in hospital by myself. However it is a lovely quiet post natal ward with one other couple. I think she had a c section this morning so not up and around yet. We are also right next to the canteen for food! DS was born this morning on his due date and his waters were still intact! Sometimes called mermaid birth/en caul. I don’t have anyone to talk to in hospital so posting here shamelessly.

Congratulations to you-he's gorgeous!

Bornin1989 · 16/06/2022 14:41

Congratulations! 🥳 My DD was born on her due date last year, and when I read birth stories it brings it all back. I also had my first contraction at midnight 😁 she was out by 15:30 that day.

It was so special and, since I'm in camp "one and done", it makes me a bit sad it's all in the past now. Give him lots of cuddles, it all goes too quickly! I'm back to work in under two months 😭😭😭

LadyDanburysCane · 16/06/2022 14:41

Congratulations!

I'm smiling now thinking back on those newborn cuddles. Mine are grown now but …. Oh that smell ❤️

Charmatt · 16/06/2022 14:44

Congratulations! Enjoy the peace for a couple of hours.

My daughter was born en caul too and it was the first en caul birth the midwife had ever seen. 1 in 80 000 chance, apparently.

Icansleep · 16/06/2022 14:45

Congratulations👶🏼

I'm sorry you don't want to hear it, but you aren't the only person in the world and unfortunately conversation cannot be tailored to your personal needs. If you choose to hang out on a parenting forum, you cannot expect people not to mention babies and it is deeply spiteful to have a go at someone for daring to be happy.

Bumpsadaisie · 16/06/2022 14:46

Beautiful little boy!!

Well done OP and congrats.

Please tell us his name (if you would like to!) in due course!

ladydoris · 16/06/2022 14:46

Congratulations ! Wonderful birth! I never had one like that but watched one on the internet, purely heavenly! All the best to you two!!!

Moonshine5 · 16/06/2022 14:48

Why did you open the thread? Because you couldn’t resist being spiteful?

Blowthemandown · 16/06/2022 14:49

Ah, that’s lovely! Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Made me smile 🥰🥰

Wishing you all the best @Phrenologistsfinger

It's very hard and very painful not to be able to have a baby easily.

But OPs baby doesn't in any way add to your difficulties of not having a baby nor take away from your joy if ever you have a baby of your own.

Try to be gracious hard as it is.

Shelleymoon · 16/06/2022 14:50

He is absolutely beautiful. Congratulations 💐

me4real · 16/06/2022 14:52

What a cutie @tealandteal .

People born en caul are said to have magical powers.

Shallysally · 16/06/2022 14:54

There's no need to be mean to this lady. Don't do that.

Ginandcrispsarebliss · 16/06/2022 14:58

Congratulations OP. Your baby boy is beautiful. Wishing you and your family lots of happiness together in the future.

Brings back memories when my 3 DC's were born. I had to go into hospital 2 days before my youngest was born. The midwife ask my OH to take me for a walk around the hospital. We popped into the little shop and bought a could of things and a scratch card. Won £100 and then a couple of hours later I went into Labour.

You are the one BU here I’m afraid. I have a lot of sympathy for your struggles (I have PCOS myself) and I hope that things turn out well for you. But there is absolutely no reason to be rude like this. You’re on a parenting forum, of course there are people here talking about their babies. If you can’t handle that then you are in for a very bitter life.

viques · 16/06/2022 15:01

@Phrenologistsfinger I am sorry thing havent worked out for you, I sincerely hope they do, and when they do please feel free to share your joy on the board. Until then, please have the grace not to spoil someone else’s joy.

Hagiography · 16/06/2022 15:02
