To think life would be better if it was June in perpetuity?

Would it become tiresome? I can not forsee that happening.

All the hard work in spring has paid off in the garden, the birds are in full song, the days are warm and long. I've convinced myself I am not being unreasonable. Long live June.

It's going to be 115F here tomorrow. So, no.

OperationRinka · 14/06/2022 21:44

The only thing that's wrong about June is that it takes me until the 15th to get the hang of what to wear, and I spend most of it wondering whether it's worth getting more summer clothes which I scarcely ever get the use out of. If it was always June then I'd have a complete wardrobe that was completely summer-appropriate (ranging from 15 degrees to 35 degrees) and could give my elderly North Face Arctic Parka and several pairs of knee length boots a decent burial.

Daisychainsandglitter · 14/06/2022 21:47

My birthday is actually on the longest day but hate the fact it's so light until 10pm and gets light again at 4.
I definitely get less sleep this time of the year. I often wake up at 4am listening to the birds until it's time to wake up. Drives me mad! Not keen on June at all!

D0lphine · 14/06/2022 21:48

No because hayfever.

Daisychainsandglitter · 14/06/2022 21:48

Also hate the bugs and the heat. Give me October any day. I love Autumn.

brokengoalposts · 14/06/2022 21:49

I'm a total summer babe, I love the nice weather. I did used to live in South Florida and pine for the weather.

ellieboolou · 14/06/2022 22:03

Nope June can't go fast enough, I feel better once we are passed the longest day. Can't stand it still being light at 10pm, kids won't / can't sleep despite blackout curtains, I also hate weather over 20-22 degrees.

Favourite months are September, October, April & May

dottypotter · 14/06/2022 22:04

Yes love June. Lightest evenings goes all to quickly then back to Autumn.

mydogisthebest · 14/06/2022 22:13

I love the light mornings and evenings. I would be happy if it never got dark. When I went to Sweden I loved that it stayed light all night.

I would want it to be a bit warmer than June has been so far this year though. Quite chilly some days and too much rain for my liking

DinosaursEatMan · 14/06/2022 22:17

I’d like perpetual March to May. Not too hot, daffodils, bluebells and trees coming into leaf. It always feels hopeful and a new start.

NoToLandfill · 14/06/2022 22:18

May please. Basically Madeira.

Lacedwithgrace · 14/06/2022 22:18

Absolutely not. Warm weather makes my joint inflammation worse so I'm grumpy. October is perfect

saveforthat · 14/06/2022 20:09

You could go and live in the Canary Islands where they are blessed with eternal spring but yes I agree, June is perfect.

Just got back from the Canaries and I can confirm it was gorgeous the whole time. I wish I was still these 😢

stripesorspotsorwhat · 14/06/2022 22:20

No. All our deciduous trees have evolved to need a winter dormancy period. If they didn't get it, then they would eventually all die.

heyitsthistle · 14/06/2022 22:21

I'll take late May to midsummer, please!

NoToLandfill · 14/06/2022 22:22

I can confirm oak trees need winter. The oddest ever oak tree in Madeira botanical garden. It just looked all wrong. Clearly oaks need the winter to rest

Nope - I hate that it’s practically daylight until after 10pm and then bright at 4am!

Me too!

Léighméleabhair · 14/06/2022 20:26

Hot?? It's not here. Pleasantly warm but definitely not hot. 😁
(West coast of Ireland)

I think we have the best weather (am in Mayo) - so happy not to be having a heatwave right now - and I love our winter storms!

Exactly what I was about to say. If you live down south then it's all good. Up North it's perpetual daylight. No thank you.

sjxoxo · 14/06/2022 22:24

Yes please… id love it xxx

Do you never sleep? Or do you just have really good blackout curtains? How can you sleep in eternal daylight?

I'm with you on that ! I NEED darkness to sleep

Tigrillo · 14/06/2022 23:37

I love June.

If I was in charge then I would cancel January, February and March and replace them with three extra months of June. The other months all have some redeeming features but not those three. I read that the ancient Romans did not even give names to the months of January and February, presumably because they are so terrible, so their year went from March to December, with a horrible nameless cold bit in between.

Eightytwenty · 14/06/2022 23:44

Totally with you. Was gardening till 930 this evening and then popped out for a sea swim with friends at 1030. Love love love the extended day.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 14/06/2022 23:45

Oh I wish it could be Solstice every day...
