To think life would be better if it was June in perpetuity?

Would it become tiresome? I can not forsee that happening.

All the hard work in spring has paid off in the garden, the birds are in full song, the days are warm and long. I've convinced myself I am not being unreasonable. Long live June.

Hot?? It's not here. Pleasantly warm but definitely not hot. 😁

no, I hate the ultra long evenings and birdsong at 4am that wakes me up. I love autumn. Crisp cold days, gorgeous coloured foliage, dark and light at sensible times.

rnsaslkih · 14/06/2022 20:28

Well since June = GCSEs, I am looking forward to it going away.

Same here..

It's hot to us @moreyoudoknow but spring to Spaniards so that's what they call it. Reminds me of a few years ago I went to Crete at the beginning of September and we sat outside a restaurant one evening recommended to us by locals. I was sat in a summer dress and the locals had puffer jackets on.

Yes yes yes! If I could save a moment in a bottle it would be my children playing in the water in the garden, me pottering round picking out a few weeds, The sun just beginning to set, dappled sunlight, birdsong and laughter. This is June for me.

justasoul · 14/06/2022 20:35

(Pressed post too soon Blush)
This song is the vibes I get from June, it’s always been my happy song but I never truly understood until I moved to the northern hemisphere… YANBU, OP Smile

Sandsnake · 14/06/2022 20:39

Absolutely! Maybe a month each for the other seasons, with Christmas in the winter month (which of course would always be snowy). Then nine months of June!😍

AmIWrong96 · 14/06/2022 20:40

I prefer March and April

axolotlfloof · 14/06/2022 20:44

Pinksalty · 14/06/2022 20:09

Nope - I hate that it’s practically daylight until after 10pm and then bright at 4am!

I think you need better curtains/black out blinds.

Sn0tnose · 14/06/2022 20:44

Berlinlover · 14/06/2022 20:13

Why?

I obviously can’t speak for Pinksalty, but for me it’s because I have to fall asleep in the daylight if I want to be able to get up at 5am and function properly.

I have a tiny bedroom window and it’s too hot and stuffy to sleep if it’s shut or the curtains are drawn. So I’m laying in bed with an eye mask on listening to every kid in the neighbourhood either playing football, jumping on trampolines or arguing with their parents for another 20 minutes outside. When they finally bugger off home, the dickhead next door comes out to chat to his next door neighbour and smoke weed for a couple of hours. When they go back in, I’ve got roughly three hours before a family of bastard thrushes wake up and decide to start auditioning for the feathered version of Madame Butterfly outside my bedroom window.

I bloody love winter.

iamme21 · 14/06/2022 20:45

Yep, it’s my birthday month!

tealandteal · 14/06/2022 20:46

I am 40 weeks pregnant, it already feels like June has lasted forever and will never end!

CornishYarg · 14/06/2022 20:19

YABU - currently suffering from horrendous hayfever so don't want that as a permanent feature. I'd happily stick with Sept/Oct personally

Same, on both counts.

Plump82 · 14/06/2022 20:47

Ferrarilover · 14/06/2022 20:23

Not this June, where I am in the north. We've had better weather in February.

Was just about to say the same. I had my heating on last night I was that cold.

ResentfulLemon · 14/06/2022 20:50

Too much daylight and too many selfish people ruining the great outdoors.

Nope a perpetual June can fuck off to the other side of nowhere. I'd happily take a perpetual March or October though, equinox seasons are much nicer.

Cornettoninja · 14/06/2022 20:51

At the risk of being the annoying one, I love all of our very distinct seasons (though I do think winter overstays it’s welcome). It gives you the chance to appreciate one before moving on to something different. Something as simple as the walk home on the school run looks completely different depending on the time of year, whether your enjoying a light evening or getting soaked with rain and freezing (and then there’s nothing like getting home to a hot cup of tea and heavily buttered toast).

PinkBuffalo · 14/06/2022 20:51

Yes I would love the long warm days all year round would be much better for me!

ItsLisaLou · 14/06/2022 20:53

Yes, but with some rules:

  1. Hayfever does not exist in this new world.
  2. Building work still only peaks for a couple of months a year, instead of lasting the whole (infinite) summer.
  3. There is one autumnal day a month where we’re all allowed to go “ooooo it’s crisp today isn’t it” and wrap up in our favourite winter fashions and cook casseroles/roasts/stews and sit by fires.
  4. There are enough local pools with ample availability that “going swimming” on a hot day no longer means navigating one prat in a swim cap hogging a single lane like he’s prepping for the olympics.
With these rules in place I agree we would have a truly perfect universe.
shoofly · 14/06/2022 21:00

I'm in Northern Ireland, it is currently pouring with rain and too warm.
Work is mental because all the stuff which would normally be done has been crammed into less days because of the longer Bank Holiday.
Ds1 has GCSES and is miserable. DS2 is finishing primary school so his primary school is scheduling fun stuff and leavers stuff while his new school is scheduling meetings and open afternoons. So my calendar is a murder picture.
So between the weather (& hot flushes) and the scheduling June can bugger off

Ambertonix · 14/06/2022 21:02

God no, i hate the heat and the long, light nights. Roll on autumn when i can snuggle under a blanket with my book and a mug of soup or hot chocolate. The sun really is over rated!

CathyorClaire · 14/06/2022 21:03

Sweat, water retention and other people shrieking into the night in perpetuity?

No thanks.

Team March and October.

scrivette · 14/06/2022 21:06

I love June with the promise of summer still to come, Spring just ending, the birds singing late until the the evening. The garden looks as is it's about to burst into a riot of colour.

I wish our winters were a bit crisper and didn't drag on so much though and I do love a sunny September.

ventreàterre · 14/06/2022 21:06

I'd lose the will to live with eternal summer. I'm already craving October. It can't arrive soon enough!
