Sweaty patch on seats

Can we please normalise the sweaty patch on seats when you get up? It always happens to me and I am mortified every single time. Surely others experience this?!

Oh god yes. I had a hygienist appointment today which I sweated my way through as I’m not a fan of having my gums ripped to bits. I did the forward swipe when I had to leave the chair. I then went to the gym where I happily wielded a fistful of blue roll soaked in anti bac. Every seat I used was wiped down.

Minge mist. Fanny condensation. Oh god I'm in hysterics 🤣

Lifelong problem of mine. My butt radiates heat.

PrivateHall · 14/06/2022 21:20

This thread is amazing!!! I haven't noticed this but then I don't know if I look at a chair after I get up - perhaps I have been unknowingly leaving behind pools of minge mist, who knows. I cycle a lot and have noticed that my shorts are always soaked through after so I certainly do sweat in that area!

In a hot country when we wore short summer school dresses on plastic seats. Has never happened to me in the UK, had forgot until this thread!

Pandorapitstop · 14/06/2022 21:42

I’ll be checking my chair as I get up now. I thought wearing panty liners was protection against all such things.

Newmum110 · 14/06/2022 22:08

Happens me all the time. I usually put a cardie under me making out the seat is cold without it. If no cardie I try sit on one arse cheek only!!!!! My clothes even light colours never have a wet patch ,so very strange but so delighted there are many people like me 😂

27 years old and never experienced this. I always wear pants and trousers so not sure how any sweat would get to the seat?

It's heat condensing on plastic.

@Geordielass1987 perfectly normal. Side swipe, slide forward, drop cardi onto the seat.

not sure why we're all so embarassed by it as it's perfectly normal. I guess tall, slim, elegantly dressed women don't seem to suffer from it, so we feel 'lesser'?!?!

The way I see it is when you sit down particularly with a bare leg and a short skirt or short you are creating a little triangle pocket of air betwixt warm thighs, hot fanny and the base of a cold, unbreathable plastic chair.
That triangle then creates its own weather system that involves a form of mist/fog/condensation that pools on the seat.

If you cupped your hands over a plastic table, made them airtight and left them there for an hour there'd be a little pool of condensation too. Not sweat.

I’m actually snorting at this! My own weather system 😂😂

I was wearing a short skirt it was definitely from my bare legs on the seat. Wearing a Tena pad wouldn’t have changed it I’m sure because it was from my legs/butt triangle.

It’s not a size thing I don’t think. I’m a size 10 but I’ve had this when I was a scrawny teenager at school too.

Plastic canteen chairs.
Thankfully we're still sanitising them before we leave. God help me when that stops.

KangFang · 15/06/2022 04:29

YANBU.

This is why I always wear patterned cotton or a long cotton top over my bottom which hides sweat patches.
You can forget any manmade textiles - they make everything much worse.

HelpMeGetThrough · 15/06/2022 04:44

This happens to men as well!

Yep, it's scrote steam.

PeskyYeti · 18/06/2022 21:27

My people!!!

I am an exam invigilator.

To stop us falling asleep every 20 mins we rotate clockwise to the next high plastic stool.

I have to watch the clock closely, so after 19 mins I stand and stretch to give the chair a minute to dry before the next person comes over to it! I've tried slide and swipe but it's not working for me. Yesterday, someone read the clock wrong and started the rotation of seats after 10 mins, so I just had to go, and the guy after me looked at the seat then decided to stand and watch the kids. Humiliated!

I'm wearing a panty liner and have tried in trousers or dresses and nothing is helping.

BigRedDuck · 18/06/2022 22:28

Oh GOD is THAT what it is between my thighs?!?! Proper wet V patches in my clothes. Awful. I try and wear cotton to soak it up 😭😭😭

WellThatsNice · 19/06/2022 00:06

Yeah basically I can never go back to my hairdresser again after this happened the last time I went. Thank god it’s not just me!!
