Dom's funeral is in Rio on Sunday; Sian and Gareth are flying out there right.
In the UK there's going to be a memorial service on July 23rd in Tregarth in North Wales (Dom's, Sîan's and Gareth's mother Jill was Welsh). We're holidaying in Devon for two weeks tomorrow, then travelling to my parents' house in Little Neston for an extended visit - we have a caravan we can park on their drive that we sleep in. Dad is nearly 81 and not in the best of health, and can't drive long distances these days. So my husband is going to drive Mum, Dad and myself out to Tregarth for the service while Offspring 2 and 3, who are 22 and 12, stay back at my parents' house with our dog. It's about one hour twenty minutes drive so we can be there and back within the day. I'm so glad we'll be able to attend.

Just listened to his obituary on radio 4s Last Word. Glad they have featured him.
Wishing you all strength for the 23rd of July and I hope some good at least will come out of his work and sacrifice.

I heard that too. He came across as hugely impressive. I hope the news coverage will help make more people aware of all the illegal logging and land grab activities that your cousin was trying to expose.

Btw Jill passed away some years ago, but yes, it will be good to see the family again; I just wish it had been in happier circumstances. 😢
