I am so terribly sorry to read the tragic news . All condolences to your family.

Thank you all again for your kindness and sympathy. I still don't think it has properly sunk in yet. Dominic was our Nan and Grandad's first grandchild (I am their last); I know they would be so proud of him, as would Uncle Bernard and Jill, Dom's, Sîan's and Gareth's mum and dad. Both he and Bruno did such important work. I am so grateful to all the people who have searched for them in order to bring this to a conclusion rather than endless waiting and wondering.

I know you will keep in your thoughts cousins Sìan and Gareth, who have lost their brother in such a horrible way, and Alessandra, Dom's widow, and of course all the family and friends of both Dom and Bruno.

I apologize for not getting back to this thread sooner; I'm on prescription diazepam, naproxen and quadruple strength co codamol for a neck/shoulder injury so I've been a bit zonked and falling asleep in the middle of the day and whatnot.

I saw on the news the other day that the men were missing.

Foul play is likely, given the greed of illegal loggers and miners.
Good men died trying to expose corruption in a largely lawless region , I’m assuming.

Hi, whatabout, yes, I believe that is the correct one. As you know, Dominic had made his life in Brazil, was married to Alessandra, and will I imagine be laid to rest in the country he called home for the past ten years. As the page says, all funds raised will go to Dom's and Bruno's widows and family in Brazil.

I don't know if there will be held a memorial service for Dom in the UK. Sian and Gareth are keeping my mum updated on matters.

Dom looks so like his dad, my Uncle Bernard, our uncle Tom (Bernard's younger brother), and our grandad, Bernard Phillips senior, who died before I was born, but whose photos I've seen. I can see all of them in him. 💕💕
