Can't have two red cars

We need another car as we both drive to work (live rurally). I literally dont care what colour the car is...my take is you cant see the colour while you are driving. After spending a week looking I have found a car that meets specs, age, mileage etc at a reasonable price. My other half has just said he doesnt want two red cars outside our house. He's huffing and puffing about it. I dont understand ..is this a thing? We live rurally, have only 3 direct neighbours. I cant imagine that we will be the talk of the village because we have two red cars outside our house.

AIBU wanting to buy another car which happens to be red when we already have a red car or should I find another colour car.

If it's a second hand car and otherwise meets your requirements it would be silly for colour to be the deal breaker given the current situation with car buying.

We have two black cars! Not sure why it makes a difference what colour they are.

Would he avoid parking next to another car of the same colour at e.g. the supermarket?

Make sure you never take one of them to the car wash, a few years worth of dirt and he wont remember it was ever red. Or you could offer the side of the car for advertising space, maybe for viagra, or mens hair dye.

We have two different shades of red car and a black one.
It just feels wrong somehow.

Not really, it's only now I've thought about it I realised what colour they are.

We have THREE red cars & 2 red bicycles in our household, ranging from a pinky burgundy through to bright red.
Never had any comments.

We have had matching cars (and sometimes even models !)
