Booing makes those objecting to the mistakes look like they are children at a pantomime. If your MP doesn't respond to you in a way that you like then you need to find a way to complain that doesn't make you look like you are a seven year old

So how are we meant to make our feelings known? He surrounds himself with sycophants, this was the first chance for the general public to express something.

Last three polite but firm letters to my 1922 committee Tory MP, ignored. No reply

You sat 'find another way'. What then? I'm all ears

A cynic would surmise that you're not meant to.

Meanwhile, no confidence vote today. Perhaps the boos did in fact have an impact. Funny how these things work out.

Cornettoninja · 06/06/2022 09:40

No, I don't have to suggest alternatives

absolutely, quite right. You’re not obliged to provide solutions to anything. However;

If your MP doesn't respond to you in a way that you like then you need to find a way to complain that doesn't make you look like you are a seven year old.

if you don’t have an alternative suggestion to problems people have encountered then it makes your personal feelings on others actions impotent and largely irrelevant. You just become a voice offering nothing but demanding the mythical ‘something’.

I actually think flipping the bird or whatever he did was actually the use of reasonable skills. A few years ago a politician had an egg thrown at him and he responded by punching the person who threw the egg.

I actually think flipping the bird or whatever he did was actually the use of reasonable skills. A few years ago a politician had an egg thrown at him and he responded by punching the person who threw the egg.

And that was largely agreed as reasonable as an act of self defence against a physical assault. It was largely mocked in reality because Prescott was a comical figure to cast as a bruiser.

Flipping the bird because your feelings are hurt really isn’t statesman like behaviour and belies a lack of control and general respect for the public you serve. Think about that. The person who is serving the public in a role that will on occasion mean they have to make decisions/do things people will dislike can’t maintain an air of decorum when it’s conveyed to him with a boo. A vocalisation, not a particularly mature one but one used to convey a short sharp message in a circumstance that doesn’t allow for any other method of spoken communication.

A prime minister should be more robust than that but we have a belligerent child in charge who answers criticism with ‘nah, nah can’t get me’.

I don’t know why any Conservative MPs (or voters) would support having a lawbreaking PM with the absolute moral vacuum Johnson represents, he’s absolutely tainted their party.

If you have a Conservative MP, please consider emailing them well before the 6pm vote tonight to say that you hope they’ll vote no confidence in Johnson and will select a new leader among themselves who will represent them (and us) without constantly compromising us.

link stolen shamelessly from @DuncinToffee - it’s a pretty comprehensive insight into the character of poor old ‘victim of bullying’ Johnson.

Happygirl79 · 06/06/2022 19:44

Unfortunately most MPs must have no concept of how powerful their constituents really are. They will ignore them at their peril. They can be voted in and voted out. My MP will never get my vote again for responding to my email with a stock copy and paste response ignoring everything I said. Instead he was siding with our lying excuse of a PM

Don’t worry @ChompChamp - I had to double check Grin

At least if he goes, his policy making wife will be 'out-of-office' and anything is worth that.

Eddiesferret · 06/06/2022 20:07

In many ways I will be very pleased if he survives tonight.. the worse case scenario is that he is replaced by a decent, honest law abiding human with conservative values.. this will keep the Tories in power for another decade..

Best case scenario is a win by a slim margin.. because he will DEFINITELY fuck up again with added entitlement under his belt.. he is a corrupt sociopath to his bones.. and it can't be hidden.

The only big upside to a defeat will be to watch Priti Patel pack her bags and hopefully leave for Rawanda...

Cornettoninja · 06/06/2022 21:03

Well he’s not squashed the rebellion into double figures that has been touted today as his aim.

In position but not in power. Impotent.

Nat6999 · 06/06/2022 21:21

Higher percentage voted against Boris than Theresa May, John Major & Margaret Thatcher, that has to say something.

Nat6999 · 06/06/2022 21:49

Has anyone watched the interview with BJ? He is doing nothing but sniff & his eyes don't look right. Does anyone think he has been on the coke tonight? He is bouncing up & down faster than Zebedee.
