Why are they bothering?

They hate the UK, the RF, the whole institution and couldn’t wait to escape, accused the RF and British public of being racist, not welcoming Meg, or caring about her mental health. Her SIL even made her cry allegedly! They did a public interview about it being so hard being a Duke and Duchess in the UK that they just had to flee to a California mansion so they could be Royal there instead.

Do we as the public want to see them at a publicly funded celebration of our Queens 70 years on our throne? All they’ve done is embarrass the monarchy selling stories and their connection.

Totally agree, if this was about family he’d have been at Philips memorial. Or they could come over at any time quietly for a private family visit with the queen.

Because said grandson derelicted duty, monetised being royal by selling stories on his family and trashtalking them all for cash, trades on his name for money, doing it as his grandfather lay dying, accusing them of being racist publicly when he was fully aware of rhe commonwealth impacts, trying to extort money out of them all, trying to pay to use the met for his own needs, not attending his own grandfathers memorial service and likely trying to use her jubilee to help boost is failing fortunes.

If it wasn't all so awful it would be fascinating to see how this works. The Texas/Netflix thing is a prime example; somebody says there was a Netflx crew there and M went just for the publicity. Others say "errr.. nope, no crew and M was respectful and kept herself to herself". In spite of that it has now become 'fact' that there WAS a crew and that it was all about good publicity for M.
As I said, fascinating but also complete and utter nonsense and deeply unfair.

Harry and Meghan fan club will be out in force to tell you that you are wrong. But ultimately they are unpopular for a reason - or ten. Like being fake self publicists, with a penchant for telling lies. Pretending to care about woke issues but looking like idiots for being contradictory. Shamelessly trading on the titles like Z list celebrities but bad mouthing the privilege that gave them the titles.

One person travelled within her own city , quietly. Without publicity. The other flew on a private jet and is probably doing it for publicity. Even if she makes it appear otherwise:
They seem unable to do anything without PR statements , Omid Scobie announcing it, or
writing a book about how they feel about everything. Why can’t they just go about their business quietly, drop the titles and grandiose posturing, stop trading off the connections they say they hate and visit their family in private?

It will be interesting to see what the content is when their Netflix offering appears. How much of it is trading off their connections and publicising themselves.
