I think Johnny Depp will win because he had strong, reliable and consistent evidence of "his" case

I hope MN will allow debate about a matter of public interest.

Those suggesting it sends the 'wrong message' are basically saying men cannot be victims of assault, which is huge barrier to it being taken seriously.

Imagine the column inches if Amber had won and a lot of online comments where based on her apperance or saying she was 'vile' and 'creepy'

What has come to light on this situation is just a team sport situation but it's sex based, the idpol is obvious, it isn't about raising awarness, it's twitter hot takes ans standing by a team, unironically most people playing the team sport like to use the 'critical thinking' meme.

And yet I haven't seen a word in support of Kevin Spacey's victims. So it's not about male victims. It's just an excuse to pass judgement on a woman and it could affect both men and women if they can be sued for even alluding to having been a victim.

Kevin's is a criminal trial that hasn't started yet - I'm sure it will in time.

To clarify, again. This was a case about whether someone can call themselves a victim without being sued for defamation. It's not a gendered thing unless you're admitting the the majority of victims are women.

I don't know what grounds she is using for her appeal but I wonder if it would be a typical step to appeal the damages when you have numbers in the millions to at least get the damages reduced. I feel like damages are often reduced on appeal.
