which one? do you mean cry sad or cry angry? if its the one with the bloke it makes me very angry...see post on subject!

MissingMyHeels · 12/01/2008 21:16

The one with the bloke! It makes me really tearful and taps into just the hormonal part of me (32 weeks pregnant) that I know it is aimed at.

It pisses me off because I wish I could ignore it and see it for the pap it is! I can't however and it just makes me all emotional. Pathetic.

I am the exact same, everytime that man says 'I'll tell you how you have made me the proudest man on the planet' or something like that, I get a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.

Yet I hate the advert and everything it stands for.

Bluestocking · 12/01/2008 21:18

I've only seen it with the sound off and it makes no sense whatsoever. What is supposed to be going on?

cherryredretrochick · 12/01/2008 21:19

I always cry at ads and I am not even pregnant.

That is the bit that gets me MarkStretch

The general theme is that SMA turns your hubby or boyfriend into a lovely man who gets up in the night, feeds the baby, doesn't mind you smelling of baby sick and is immensely proud of you being his "Missus"

Wish is what we would all aspire to! But the reality is far from it......

Still there is something lovely about it. Men and babies, aaahhhhh. Makes me so broody. Bastard advertising.

PortAndLemonaid · 12/01/2008 21:34

I think it's more that if you are (or want to think you are) a lovely man who gets up in the night, feeds the baby, doesn't mind his wife smelling of baby sick and is immensely proud of her being his "Missus" then naturally you will buy SMA, and if you don't buy SMA then it's because you aren't a lovely man... (etc.). Only from 6 months, of course (presumably because breastmilk turns into diesel fuel then or something).

cherryredretrochick · 12/01/2008 21:34

Love the car ad, where the guy dances with baby, I know its sad but I love it.

IdrisTheDragon · 12/01/2008 21:35

That advert annoys both me and DH a lot.

sherby · 12/01/2008 21:36

Is it online anywhere, I still haven't seen it

yelnats · 12/01/2008 21:36

Makes me cry yes, with fury because I just DON T have a DH who would say any of those things. Have two DC and in all the time since we had them DH as never once got up in the night with either of them. Have had two lie ins in 16 months since DD was born. So the bit about pretending to be asleep causes a huge surge of resentment in me.
