The recent Marilyn documentary on Netflix is really excellent if you haven’t caught it.

I think how to marry a millionaire is nearly as good, but agree that Some like it hot just pips the rest of her films.

Its hypnotic (mainly due to her) and the storyline is really good. Not one dud moment

She was at her biggest in that film, she had just had a miscarriage (or was about to have one, cant remember). She was never a UK size 16, she was miniscule.

Yep. Kim K had to lose more than a stone to fit in her dress and she’s probably a UK 8-10 (she’s just little and out of proportion so looks bigger).

Yy years ago I went to an exhibition that featured Monroe's costume/wardrobe from various films and she was quite tiny.

I love her in this film. She was so beautiful and actually her timing and delivery is great.

Glorious film. Marilyn was indeed gorgeous but an absolute nightmare to work with, from interviews/clips about the making of the film I've seen. Lemmon and Curtis were in makeup from the early hours so filming could start promptly, but Marilyn often didn't arrive till nearly lunchtime and it took innumerable takes before Billy Wilder was satisfied with her performance. He told Lemmon and Curtis they had to be perfect in every take as once Marilyn finally got it right, that was the take that would be used.

Apparently that's the sort of size she'd wear now, a 12. And having been passed a pair of size 18 80s jeans my mum found in her wardrobe which are snug on my 14 frame I'd say that would be about right.

Yes I've heard the stories about difficulties on set but her finished performance as captured was brilliant.

Also I’m sure I read somewhere it was meant to be in colour, but Lemmon and Curtis looked too gaudy with the full face make up, so it changed to black and white
