How many sausages could you eat in one sitting?

just polished off my 6th chicken (non pork) sausage for tea and I was wondering how many could MN eat in one sitting

We have the 'orrible Richmond sausages which everyone on here hates.

I would have 2/3 with mash and beans.

I many could i eat? For money?

....... i dunno. 9?

This has sparked a discussion with DH.

In a sausage eating competition, how many sausages do you think you could eat for a prize of £200?

Does the number change if the prize is £5000?

I usually cook a whole pack of 8 sausages, and eat half in one meal, half cold the next day.

No more than 3.

About 3 but if it's the Heck chicken sausages, about 5 because they're skinny.

4 or 5 with mash, chips or champ- so yummy!!

Three with the meal and then the rest of them cold for breakfast.

I can't believe nobody has been in to say that their carve a single skinny sausage between the entire family with plenty for leftovers the next day!

This really depends on sausage girth. Usually 2-3 'normal' size.

Only 2 (real meat, not dry low fat veg ones) because Vegetables have more interesting flavours. And I like carbs (including fatty carbs like mash or pastry).
DH (who cooks meals) would rarely put >1 ssg on my plate which is fine.

I notice MNers report eating much larger meat portions than I prefer.

Suppose I was famished & the choice was sausages or nothing: I could pack away 6+, easily enough.

Is the £200 or £5000 supposed to only go to one person who eats the most?

I nominate my 6'+ 17yr old for this task. Just starve him overnight & take him for a long walk. He'd devour... 20+ in one go? We can split the proceeds.

I don’t think I’d want to eat loads of sausages. I that’s not because I’m all virtuous or something. More that is probably choose to eat something else excessively (like cake). 🤣

I always serve 3 as an adult sized portion but could happily eat 5 or 6!

I'd eat 2 Richmond Thick ones, but could eat 4 or 5 if I really wanted to. Probably 3 chicken sausages, with veg.

If I can swap them out for veggie equivalent, would happily eat the same. YANBU.

I reckon I could manage 12 normal size ones if I was super hungry and just eating sausages.

More for the £5000, but I think I'd be feeling really sick and definitely wouldn't enjoy it.

A normal portion would be 2 or 3 though.

normally I eat 2, occasionally 3 and 4 has been known.

the biggest thing I could eat 3 of is a challenge. Massive chocolate bars prob.

I'm morbidly obese and (assuming with a side of mash and veg) could only manage 2. 3 if I skip lunch.

The thought of 5/6/+ makes me feel nauseous thinking about it. Do MNers have hollow legs?

3 with mash & veg, probably 6 on their own. (Richmond veggie sausages)

I've witnessed DP polish off 6 chunky pork sausages with mash and veg

I'd have plenty of vegetables with them though including lots of mash with butter and gravy.
