After school club 4 days a week unfair?

I have a civil service job offer and a single parent. I think it is going to be in the office 5 days a week by the time I start and my mum can do one pick up a week. This leaves 4 days a week where they will need after-school club until 5.30/6pm.

I feel awfully guilty at the idea of 4 days a week ASC. The children are year 1 and year 3.

Will it be too much for them? I'm looking for a childminder/nanny share too even if it just gives then a couple of days ASC and a couple of days in something else.

I've tried both in the past....grandparents and ASC combined, and just ASC.
My daughter is happier now it's just ASC. She's got to know the staff and other children and loves going.
Pick ups are also easier as I just swing into the school car park! No finding somewhere to park at busy pick up time!
If you can get your children to have a hot school dinner then you can just do something on toast when you get home.

Its not unusual , but it is sad that that has become the staple. I wish i lived in sweden

Out of interest, what do you think would happen in Sweden? My understanding is that they have greater equality there = more parents work full time = more children in childcare
