Me, I’m struggling to drop off, perhaps because it’s full moon 🌕 but may also be because of the long afternoon nap I had

I have a KIT day tomorrow, I really don’t want to go as it makes going back to work seem more real, and I’m really not ready for it.

This is also me soon.

How long have you been on mat leave for? Perhaps there is never a time when we will feel ready?

I’m resigning from my job tomorrow after 30 years at the same company ….. my minds too busy to sleep!

Ahh, that’s huge, good luck. 👏

whatsthestory123 · 16/05/2022 00:56

lots of thunder and lightening and heavy rain for the last 3 hrs

CoffeeLover90 · 16/05/2022 00:58

I finished work at 12.30, WFH for now so luckily I just go from spare room to bedroom. Always shattered from about 11.30, get to bed and can't sleep!

Whatup · 16/05/2022 00:58

I was playing xbox all day and then cleaned everything and now watching friends.

I’ve been on adoption leave since the start of January, its my husbands turn for his six months now.

Whatup · 16/05/2022 01:00

I love midnight thunderstorms. When you ask google to play rain sounds it plays the most soothing track of it its amazing.

Shylo · 16/05/2022 01:00

Feckingfeck · 16/05/2022 01:03

Feckingfeck · 16/05/2022 01:03

@Shylo

What are you leaving and what are you heading into? How exciting for you 🙂

Poopootatty · 16/05/2022 01:05

Been woken up several times after trying to go to bed early. 8 month old not sleeping and four year old just joined the party. So fucking tired as I’ve also been ill these last two days but there is no respite. FML right now frankly.

@Simonjt

when do you actually have to go back? Can you buy out any extra time?

TheChurchOfEli · 16/05/2022 01:07

Baby woke up. Well, DP woke me up saying “fucks sake I’ve just got back into bed” (after seeing to her) so I said I’ll get her. She had pooped, he “hadn’t smelled it” (I smelled it when I walked into the room) so now I’m laying here contemplating putting the dirty nappy on his face.

Procrastination4 · 16/05/2022 01:07

Just finished school prep. (Though in fairness, didn’t start until 8.30pm as we had big day of celebrations of our church’s anniversary today. )

Vikinga · 16/05/2022 01:10

I've kind of turned night into day since I had covid. I work from home so I'm getting up to drop the kids off at school then going back to bed for a few hours. Working all afternoon then kids and cooking etc in the evening then I'm working again and then I think I have to wind down and it is a vicious circle. I'm a night owl though.

I have some deadlines tomorrow morning so I'm just going to have to be tired tomorrow and hopefully get back to a healthier sleeping pattern.

Simon, I remember when I first went back to work after I had my first and I was heartbroken. But actually it was good, it meant that we had lots of quality time when I wasn't working.

Oh just seen about DH now having his turn. Still if you could buy some extra time off you could have some time together and half term with DS too!

Second week of June, no we’re broke 😄 having one wage coming in is tight enough, no way could we afford no wages for any amount of time.

Louise0701 · 16/05/2022 01:13

@RitaFaircloughsWig same!! I’m hooked

winniesanderson · 16/05/2022 01:13

I just woke up from a very tense dream where my youngest couldn't get a door open (we were all barricading ourselves in one room away from a scary something) to the sounds of her calling for me and saying "I can't do it" in real life. So now I'm lying in her room while she drifts back off and wondering if we were dream psychics.

lonelynotalone · 16/05/2022 01:16

I've had a rubbish week of not much sleep so had an afternoon nap.... big mistake. Now I'm wide awake, and worrying about the week ahead. Hmm

ithinkidbetterleaverightnow · 16/05/2022 01:17

01.16am I'm at work.

Merryweather80 · 16/05/2022 01:22

Pain.
I have osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and ME. Tonight, it’s unbearable. I have Fentanyl, morphine, nerve blockers etc and nothing is working.
I’ve had enough now.

cutebutscary · 16/05/2022 01:24

Insomnia. This is still fairly early for me , I usually drop off between 3-4am

GiraffeInTheSky · 16/05/2022 01:25

Because my life is a mess and I have a lot on my mind.

Because I've never been able to sleep well since I was a small child.

Thesefeetaremadeforwalking · 16/05/2022 01:34

Had a late afternoon nap after some hard work in the garden, so not tired now !
