To think child benefit should be paid today!

It’s Friday, the weekend looms and I know today would be early to pay but why pay it late?? I really though it would be in today and I could take my kids out for a small treat tomorrow. Unfortunately I am totally broke at the moment due to clearing bills etc etc. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s disappointed. 😥

Just checked as we appear to be paid on the same day, OP. The last payment was very early (the Thursday before the usual Monday pay date) due to good Friday and Easter Monday. So the next payment is due this Monday. X

What bank are you with? I’m with Barclays and even though my daughters DLA is due on a Monday it always comes into my bank on a Saturday. Different banks process payments differently.

Not sure why would be paid usually on the 14th

its every 4 Mondays or Tuesdays

I have mine paid into my Monzo account and they pay you a day early (if you want them to). (Three days if it's a weekend) it's really handy. Could you open a Monzo and have your child benefit paid into that?

I doubt it, I assume it depends on when your child is born. What people are saying is that it is paid on Mondays to everyone not that everyone gets it on the same Monday as I understand it

No. It's always paid on a Monday (although apparently available on a Saturday if you bank with Barclays), but it's on a 4-week cycle so it depends when you first started claiming. We don't all get it on the same Monday!

No mine comes in every fourth Tuesday, according to this thread every one's child benefit is paid on a Monday or Tuesday every four weeks so it should be fairly easy to work out unless it's a Bank Holiday

in 17 years of getting this ive always had it every tuesday

never monthly

I get it every 4th Tuesday.

Mines officially supposed to be Mondays every four weeks but it's always been cleared in my bank on the Saturday and has been for over ten years but I can see I'm in the monitory.

I had a colleague who thought the same
today as the last was paid early for the bank holiday. Colleague was so confused and couldn't work it out. I, on the other hand couldn't work out how they didn't understand that that other payment was early rather than this one being late 😆. Different perceptions I guess!

You should get a monzo bank account, payments due in on a monday go in at 4pm on a friday

Not sure if this will have been mentioned or if it's relevant, but if you set up a Monzo account (I have one - my favourite bank for online banking!) it has an option where you can pull your upcoming payments in a day early.

Mines always every 4 weeks on a tuesday.

Mines is scheduled to be paid every Tuesday but i can get paid early with Monzo so it clears in my bank at 4pm on a Monday
