to expect Christian Missionary friend to pay for his own meals?

He's a lay missionary - so not a priest. doesnt have a job but runs these christian workshops for for a small fee. he's putting up with us and i've been cooking - he's been eating. no word of thanks. seems to expect meals when he's in the house. AIBU to expect he should feed himself!?

You need to discuss the time frame of his visit. Obviously you invited him so he's acting like a guest. You need to clarify how long the arrangement is lasting - and you need to be honest as to what is sustainable. If you decide that he is to be a lodger then he needs to find a way to contribute to your satisfaction. Say, like doing all the cleaning, growing the vegetables, and only staying for week days or weekabout etc.
