Why has Brit posted the same 6 photos of herself naked?

lamanzanas · 09/05/2022 22:24

On instagram- 6 photos
All the same
Naked

I'm trying to consider if there is a deeper meaning. Like I am free to do what I like and no one can stop me.

Or is it an attention thing, but then she really can get all the attention she wants without having to do that.

Validation? Of what exactly

Leave Britney alone!

Why are you addressing that to me?

NutellaEllaElla · 10/05/2022 07:56

So what if she’s unwell? Should she not be allowed to post naked pictures? Other people do? Would it be better if it was on Onlyfans? Or if she was less famous? It was fine when she was ‘tastefully’ naked for magazines and videos and it was someone else’s idea and creative design. If she’s not hurting anyone then she is free to crack on.

She IS vulnerable though and obviously has been seriously controlled and abused until very recently so I do think there is responsibility towards protecting her from further control and abuse.

Yawn, yet another pearl clutching thread about Britney where mumsnetters rush to harp on about how 'clearly unwell' someone who they don't know must be despite their being little to no evidence of that beyond 'she posted pictures I don't like'.

The answer to why? Because she can, and she doesn't have to give you a reason.

Oh come on.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 10/05/2022 07:57

I agree her actions are worrying.

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2022 08:03

Leave Britney Alone right now!

So I’m not allowed to wonder how her children are affected by her actions? Interesting. Hmm

coffeecupsandfairylights · 10/05/2022 08:06

What I find more confusing is that when the photo was taken, she covered her boobs with her hands, but not her erm, other private part and choose to use an emoji to cover that for the instagram post. It’s an interesting stylistic decision. Her body her choice though.

Presumably because she only has one pair of hands?

Horological · 10/05/2022 08:11

shes giving her haters ammunition to say she's unwell, has mh issues

@DeskInUse

This is the oddest thing to say. On what planet is it hating on someone to say they are unwell?

It is totally unnecessary to jump on anyone defensively who says she is unwell. Having mental health issues is not an insult or slur. It's just a fact in the same way that having a broken leg is a fact. She is very very clearly very vulnerable still. And of course there is nothing wrong at all with posting naked photos, it's just the type of photos and the look on her face. You would have to be have very little understanding of human beings to not see that she is still struggling.

It was really naive to think that getting rid of the conservatorship would transform her into a strong and healthy woman. That is not hating on her, that is having empathy and seeing someone who needs help.

this person explains exactly why you should leave Britney alone.

DeskInUse · 10/05/2022 08:21

@Horological I don't mean people who are genuinely concerned for her mh, I mean those that will use her perceived mh issues against her to gain control of her again. I think it's great she's got the confidence and guts to post those photos (I wish I did), but the people who want control could use them against her, to try and insinuate she has mh issues - wether she does or doesn't

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2022 08:24

I really thought everyone commenting on this thread would know this classic video by heart!

SwanBuster 🤣

Thatswhyimacat · 10/05/2022 08:32

@Valeriekat are they? What actual mental health diagnosis has she been given that the public are aware of? If anything, the recent legal process has given heaps of evidence that her mental health issues have been massively exaggerated, and noone has ever come forward to say exactly what it is she's supposedly suffering from.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Britney has been taking pictures without her clothes on since she was SIXTEEN. It's only now that she's older and not looking as stereotypically hot that people are falling over themselves to call her crazy. Britney took lots of happy looking photos wearing demure outfits at a time where she was desperately unhappy, and everyone said YAY she's cured! Look how pretty she is! Since her early 20s when she first dared to gain a couple of pounds, Britney's sanity has been hugely linked to how she looks and it makes me so angry. She has said a million times she doesn't care about the polish, the image, and just wants to be able to do whatever the hell she likes. WHY won't anyone for once actually just believe a woman's own words?

Sparklingbrook · 10/05/2022 08:32

Oh right. TBH I didn’t make it past the first few seconds…

it was a pretty ‘important’ moment for YouTube in many ways - one of the key viral videos in its early years that went on to be referenced in the conventional media at the time.

welshpolarbear · 10/05/2022 09:32

It's not insulting her to be concerned.

I'm so happy she has her freedom, but her eyes just look kind of glazed over, you have to be completely un-empathetic not to see that something isn't right.

TreatTrimTame · 10/05/2022 09:49

She worries me and I just pray the paps leave her alone after she has her baby or we may see more baby-on-lap car chases and her in a panic state tripping over etc. Heartbreaking. She says her book is due out later this year which will be roughly when the baby is due so I see interest ramping up and every late night talk show host making jokes etc.

Siameasy · 10/05/2022 10:17

Her eyes look manic. It’s disconcerting because you have this big grin but the eyes aren’t consistent with that.

dianthus101 · 10/05/2022 11:02

Loads of people post naked photos. Unless you know her personally and know it is very out of character then why should it mean she is unwell? Ridiculous.

Tamzo85 · 10/05/2022 11:04

Who cares? It’s not like Beyoncé or Lady Gaga or whatever other celebrity who isn’t thought of as “washed up” or “troubled” doesn’t do the exact same. Virtually all of the female pop stars who are attractive do this.

Sex sells, what’s new.

And yes she’s doing it for attention obviously and it’s probably working.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/05/2022 11:10

Hardly ridiculous given her history. Anyone who has had any dealings with someone who is manic can very clearly see something isn't right at all.

There's been another few posts since then too.
