Just trying to get an idea of what percentage of salary increase folks get on average?

I’ve had an increase of 8% which I am so bloody happy about but I don’t actually know what the average increase is…

I'm a teacher in FE, I got 1%.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 07/05/2022 09:47

3% but my pension went from 10% to 16% so its wiped the lot (and more) out.

Eve · 07/05/2022 09:48

1.5% private sector!

2pinkginsplease · 07/05/2022 09:49

6.2 %

LakieLady · 07/05/2022 09:50

Third sector, 2%.

And I only work 17 hours, so that's 2% of not a lot. I don't think it even covers the increase in my council tax.

Bibbetybobbity · 07/05/2022 09:50

6.5%

Merryoldgoat · 07/05/2022 09:50

I got 8% in September and we’ll be getting something like 3.5% this coming September with a YE bonus (small) if results support it.

declutteringmymind · 07/05/2022 09:50

Dentist. Nope.

ModerationInEverything · 07/05/2022 09:52

Childminder. No. I hate increasing my fees. I know everyone is feeling the pinch.

Onthegrid · 07/05/2022 09:54

I work for a SME that don’t do annual increases and begrudge any request for more pay. I secured my first pay rise in 5 years at the end of lockdown which was equivalent to the rate of inflation for the period. This means I am now falling behind again so I am reducing my hours/effort to match which I can do as I self manage and wfh. Can you tell I am disillusioned? Fortunately I am actually on a good salary to start with.

Mirrorball2022 · 07/05/2022 09:54

NHS staff, no one’s made any decisions on this years . Last years we got in September but it meant my pension went up and I didn’t see it. Probably looks like 3%

my partner is council staff and got last years back paid in March. Think it was 2% no news this years yet.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 07/05/2022 09:55

Nope. £20 per month pay cut thanks to the govt.
Be grateful for what you did get!

ShinyMe · 07/05/2022 09:55

hahaha, no. I had 1.something % about 4 years ago, but nothing since.

TedMullins · 07/05/2022 09:57

Lol no. Public sector, last one we had was last year about 1.5%

Spidey66 · 07/05/2022 09:57

NHS.

1% during pandemic (thanks Boris, if I'd been nursing you, I'd have pulled your oxygen mask off.)

This month my pay was £25 less due to the increase in NI.

FruitToast · 07/05/2022 09:57

Also NHS staff. Guessing we will see a rise of 3% when they can be bothered to recommend it. Will back pay it all in one go and mess up student loans etc and by then inflation will be so high its effectively a pay cut.

StCharlotte · 07/05/2022 09:59

Private sector. No pay rises for years. Last year we got two bonuses totalling about 6%. The summer one was unexpected.

And then last month we got 5% which was also a nice surprise.

GlasswareisOverated · 07/05/2022 09:59

NHS as well, recently got told I excel at my job. Twenty pounds Amazon voucher.
Which is nice. But no pay increase.

StCharlotte · 07/05/2022 10:00

A 5% increase that is.

MissWired · 07/05/2022 10:00

75p an hour. Big whoop....

cumulonimbus523 · 07/05/2022 10:01

16% this year. Tech company, because "well, you know how the sector has changed recently" (my boss' words, no idea what he means tbh). My company is pretty generous and my normal raise is about 6% so yeah I'd say 8% is fabulous!

TabithaTittlemouse · 07/05/2022 10:01

Still waiting to hear about nhs pay rise. Not holding my breath!

MissWired · 07/05/2022 10:01

That's 7% btw

JurasicPerks · 07/05/2022 10:01

Work have just paid me the now agreed paid rise for April 2021. So I got the whole years payrise in one pay packet. An earth shattering £252 for the entire year. I'll try not to spend it all at once!
