Did you get a salary increase recently?

Just trying to get an idea of what percentage of salary increase folks get on average?

I’ve had an increase of 8% which I am so bloody happy about but I don’t actually know what the average increase is…

We lucky enough to get 2% and 8% bonus so can't complain. It's a new role in an entirely different industry so and employers pension contributions etc are great so as a package it's good.

Erictheavocado · 07/05/2022 10:05

TA here. We were awarded 1.75% in 2021 but the unions fought it so we didn't actually receive it until March 2022. I got £116 for the entire year, so just under £10 a month. By the time I take into account the extra NI, the increased council tax, energy, food bills etc, I am massively worse off.

Copperpottle · 07/05/2022 10:08

I had a small pay rise at work, but wasn't happy, so I've taken a new role with a 40% increase and more opportunity.

Job changing is the best way to get a raise.

Crazydogmumma · 07/05/2022 10:09

Teacher 0%. - pay freeze- but I did get a letter from the Local Authority thanking me for working everyday through the 2 years of the pandemic- 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

DockOTheBay · 07/05/2022 10:09

I'm self employed and haven't increased my prices. However the nature of my work means I get new customers in September so I will increase my prices then, by around 10%.

Theforest · 07/05/2022 10:10

1%. After the NI increase this equated to £4 more a month.

SweetPetrichor · 07/05/2022 10:11

I got 3% in January and 11% in April, so 14% this year. I’m a structural engineer in private sector consultancy.

CatDogMonkeyPOW · 07/05/2022 10:13

Local government. We got a pay rise for the 2021-2022 financial year of 1.75% finally awarded in April just gone, back dated for the whole year.

No idea if there will be anything for this financial year. But it pisses me off how long negotiations take with the Unions going back and forth. There should be a time limit for negotiations to conclude. I shouldn't have to wait an entire year for a pay rise.

Farmhouse1234 · 07/05/2022 10:15

Sweet FA.

hupfpferd · 07/05/2022 10:20

I got 11% at the end of last year. But that was a promotion too. I'm hoping for another 10% in September but that's also only going to happen if I take on more work.

It's slow going and even 10% of not a lot is not a lot!

OrangeLampshade78 · 07/05/2022 10:20

Soulbury scale here so a miserly 1.75% last year - and it wasn’t paid until seven months after it should have started.

Have to say that I think the Soulbury unions are crap and not worth the subscription fees!

Crabwoman · 07/05/2022 10:21

1.75% for 2021. As above pp's it was awarded in March due to Union negotiations. Completely absorbed by the NI increase.

2022 will likely be in negotiation for a year and amount to SFA.

WiseRobin · 07/05/2022 10:21

Had a 5% increase but that’s the first pay rise I’ve had in approx 4 years!

Thankful all the same.

SleepCheeseBeer · 07/05/2022 10:24

2.49% we are a "real living wage" employer and I earn that so it has had to go up so we keep that accreditation.

BeyondMyWits · 07/05/2022 10:25

Pay rise nope, minimum wage went up thankfully.

Boss calls this our payrise... She's "given us a rise".. nope... she was required to.

SoHereBesMe · 07/05/2022 10:26

7% and a small bonus in March. I believe the standard across the company was 4% with a one off payment for cost of living but I changed job role so was apparently treated differently. Not complaining, it increases my base salary.

PorkySisyphus · 07/05/2022 10:26

18.5%. NHS. Posted about it a few weeks ago as was (and still am) delighted.

Have been overperforming for 2 years I've been here, working pretty much at same level as my colleague/line manager (apart from the managerial stuff) and had her full support in pushing for increase.

Baker90 · 07/05/2022 10:26

1.5% in FE

SoHereBesMe · 07/05/2022 10:29

Our creche increased fee from 1st April by 5%
I wasnt surprised and couldn't disagree with them, their costs are going up too. As pp says, don't sell yourself short.

supadupapupascupa · 07/05/2022 10:30

We try to keep up with inflation but this April managed 5%. Doesn't feel good but it's what the business can afford right now.

EthicalNonMahogany · 07/05/2022 10:30

5% our organisation really tried to squeeze this for everyone as cost of living and inflation are going up so much. I'm proud I managed to get it through the budget for us
all.

GellerYeller · 07/05/2022 10:36

Nothing. My bonus rate was increased though. I woreddit ra hours during lickdown

GellerYeller · 07/05/2022 10:38

Wtf! Worked extra hours during lockdown so am now effectively working to rule - nothing outside work hours, leaving on time, full lunch break etc. Tentatively trawling for something elsewhere.

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 07/05/2022 10:40

Arms-length body of the government - I've had a big fat zero for three years now.
