Just trying to get an idea of what percentage of salary increase folks get on average?

I’ve had an increase of 8% which I am so bloody happy about but I don’t actually know what the average increase is…

5% and a car allowance increase from July.

But I'm on maternity leave so it made no difference.

DorothyZbornakIsAQueen · 07/05/2022 10:47

God knows what we are getting. Between the to-ing and fro-ing of the NNC and the SMT, we probably won't find out until November.

MatildaJayne · 07/05/2022 11:04

Got the local government 1.75% in for April 2021 in March. After NI increases it amounted to £11 a month extra. Whoopee doo! 🙄

UnshakenNeedsStirring · 07/05/2022 11:08

Not had one sice 2019, as covid hit in 2020, we have had a pay and recruitment freeze

Waxonwaxoff0 · 07/05/2022 11:08

Haha. No. I'll get the NI tax break from July.

ifonly4 · 07/05/2022 11:12

We have three jobs between us. One has made three lots of redundancies in last three years, so very pleased to get 5.5%. The other two are public sector. DH had been told his department are not getting a pay rise, which he has taken quite well despite others providing that service getting 2%. The other one, I haven't heard anything - guessing it'll be 1-2%.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 07/05/2022 11:13

Nothing. With the NI rise I've lost £10 a week.

midsomermurderess · 07/05/2022 11:15

2%. Our MD was thrilled with our financial results, bouncing back, much better profits than expected, all the rest, just jubilant, couldn’t have done it without us. Told the Union looking for something more, look (a la Eustace), people will just have to trade down.

IJoinedJustForThisThread · 07/05/2022 11:17

Salary increase? What’s one of those? Local government, no pay rises for some years (no bonuses either, obviously)

However, I have a weekend job on top of my full time job, and as that is NMW we got a rise from £8.91 to £9.50.

Cakecakecheese · 07/05/2022 11:19

3%

alanabennett · 07/05/2022 11:19

Yes, a hefty one. I was being paid below market and used a job offer to leverage a raise at my current position. It was about 35%. Our company is losing people hand over fist (great company but below market pay) so I was actually awarded a 25% retention bonus this week. I was thrilled.

alanabennett · 07/05/2022 11:19

Copperpottle · 07/05/2022 10:08

I had a small pay rise at work, but wasn't happy, so I've taken a new role with a 40% increase and more opportunity.

Job changing is the best way to get a raise.

Congratulations- I completely agree!

@BobHadBitchTits, your employer needs to recalculate your mat pay.

Minikievs · 07/05/2022 11:21

Private sector, 4%

NoWordForFluffy · 07/05/2022 11:22

I got 3%, so I'm still slightly up even with the NI increase and a tax code change (no longer entitled to marriage allowance as DH's earnings are now higher).

I've done loads of overtime recently though, so it's all masked by that.

Iamanunsafebuilding · 07/05/2022 11:26

Public sector, had one pay rise of about 1% in 3 years. Have just moved roles up to the next band which brings a pay rise but nothing else likely!

KangarooKenny · 07/05/2022 11:27

Nurse in private company - no.

Horriblewoman · 07/05/2022 11:27

Private sector, no pay increase so I took an internal promotion and bumped my salary up 15%

Throwawaytoday · 07/05/2022 11:28

2.5% which is lower than previous years (private sector).

When viewed as a whole I've done okay this year (bonus, increased car allowance). But my actual reportable salary, for things such as mortgage applications, is not increasing to support the changing cost of living.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 07/05/2022 11:30

I got 4% but that includes a payrise that was delayed from April last year, so in reality I got 2.25% this year. Which isn't too bad. I'm a TA.

nearlyspringyay · 07/05/2022 11:32

1.5% private sector

Inyourhonor · 07/05/2022 11:35

Got a 7.5% increase last June. This was because the industry averages had increased so it was to bring be up to that.

Got a 9% increase in April this year. This was performance based but probably mostly because I tried to move departments in the last few months and they wanted me to stay.

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 07/05/2022 11:39

Had 11 p an hour pay rise in my full time 25 year experienced role four years ago.

Nothing since.

Am now only around £150 a month more than the junior member who's been here four years.

I bring in the most money for the business when everyone else's is added together.

I requested compressing my days to three longer ones 6 months ago because I also work another job because I don't earn enough to keep everything ticking over.

The request was put on hold while to boss went on a five week over sees holiday recently and the last two weeks have been spent listening to the boss complaining about the wage bill as min wage increased (which I had to remind them about as they hadn't added it to the other staffs wages)

No sound or snippet of even a slight increase for me yet again.

I earn more per hour in my side job which doesn't need any skill other than organisation and common sense.

Am totally deflated after 25 years of service to be passed over yet again so am about to drop the bombshell that I'm lowering my hours as they would compromise on the compressed days and if they reject that then I'm off.

No more earning it for others when I can't even make my bills.

Oblomov22 · 07/05/2022 11:39

None. Sad

Biker47 · 07/05/2022 11:39

£1000, engineering, private sector.
