So my washing machine packed up for good tonight. Can anyone please recommend a great washing machine that takes large loads, is quick and kind the environment. Budget £1k and yes posting here for traffic.

Am I being so unreasonable for wanting a washing machine that takes a large load of washing?

Yes you are being unreasonable this is nothing but a myth.

We can see this thread is quite old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best washing machine page with plenty of great options tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

@coffeewithmilk it’s a 10 year warranty on the digital inverter (motor), which is sooo unlikely to go wrong 😂🫣annoying they use that as a marketing ploy. We have one it’s great, it would also be great without that.

People with EcoBubbles what’s the fastest 60 degree full wash cycle please?

We had a Samsung eco bubble 10kg and it broke 3 times in 18 months and in the end couldn't be fixed - we exchanged for a Miele which was actually less £ and it's fabulous - the guys fitting it told us we have the rolls Royce of washing machines now and we won't have any bother - so far so good!

I got an LG 10.5kg direct drive this week and I love it. I can fit at least 50% extra in it. I changed all our sheets yesterday and fitted in one set each of king sized, double and toddler bedding and still had room for a bath towel! Game changer. I think it came in at less than £500, my sister has a similar one and it has lasted well.

I also have an LG 10kg drum, and am constantly surprised how much I can get in it. Eco wash is supposed to be the cheapest option but depending on load can take over 3 hours. You can do a much quicker wash though if necessary. Only had it a few months and so far so good.

If you're anywhere in the North West the ao.com knock off shop is well worth a visit. They also sell online and sometimes do free delivery. AO.com have a 100 day change-your-mind returns policy, so they're all unused customers returns or cancelled orders. Or ones with dents in.

It's called Elek-Direct and once you've bought from there you'll never buy electrical goods elsewhere. I've been buying from them for years, before they publicised they were ao.com in disguise.

Eg. Beko fridge freezer, £420 (AO.com, Currys, Argos)......Ao knock off shop £160 with free delivery. Small dent on bottom of door but brand new and all internal packaging, instruction book etc still in place.

Just found this as an example....its a 12kg drum.

Also worth noting they have DOZENS more in the shop than what they have on their website.

Beko here, which takes two bath sheets, bath mats, at least six hand towels. Or super king size sheets, duvet covers, pillow slips and mattress protector. Some of the programmes are longer because they’re energy efficient, ao.com were very good.

The love for the eco bubble is real.
we seldom use it, the the stainaway programme is great
