To have not used an air fryer yet?

Thinking to buy one but not sure. Does food taste 'normal' in an air fryer? Anyone already got one? Would you recommend?

Rice is super easy with the pressure cooker on the ninja.

Thanks that’s good to know.

Has anyone done hard boiled (or soft boiled) eggs in their air fryer? Any tips on timing/temperature?

AlternativelyWired · 16/05/2022 09:52

I've done roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings so far. Dd said the potatoes were 7/10 and maybe needed more oil.

FourTeaFallOut · 16/05/2022 11:19

Do you have a ninja? I pressure cook my roast potatoes for 2 minutes, drain the water out, add oil and put under the air fryer for 15 mins.

FourTeaFallOut · 16/05/2022 11:21

I pressure cook the potatoes...not roast potatoes. Just realised that sounded like I was pressure cooking the frozen roast potatoes - that would make it very weird.

As far as I can see the dual drawer ninja has fewer functions than some of them. Namely it doesn’t pressure cook? Now I’ve never pressure cooked anything but I’m getting fomo

we’re a basic family of 4, I’m leaning toward the dual drawer as dh and I low carb so we can do the kids carby things at the same time. Does it sound as though that might be the right option? But I sort of want 14 functions even though I don’t even know what it’s steam or dehydrate having never done such things

I mean, I don't think I'm a reliable witness because I think I'm a fully paid up member of the the ninja foodi cult now, so I feel compelled to say lean in and go large but, if you are making two sets of foods that won't play well together it makes sense to get both go with the dual drawer.

I have just recently been converted (last 1-2 weeks) and I don’t think I’ll ever use my oven again! I use it for everything, even heating up pastry’s like pain au chocolates/brioche. So quick and easy, no need to preheat or use any oil! X

Stem is like you would vegetables etc on the hob. I cook salmon and potatoes together on the steam function for example. I believe you can add veg near the end too though haven't tried that yet. I've not been brave enough to try the PC function yet 😆. I believe what you need is more than one ninja 👀😭. I want the grill next so can cook full roasts etc or multiple things at once

Handsnotwands · 16/05/2022 16:57

Thanks for your help but it hasn’t helped, although @liveforsummer and @FourTeaFallOut i admire your laissez faire attitude towards kitchen appliances

I’ve been paralysed by indecision and I have a bunch of vouchers burning a hole in my pocket. And now I’ve found an instant pot too. Sometimes too much choice is too much

dragonatetheparsnips · 17/05/2022 10:53

I've just bought one. I suspect it's going to become essential but it's all your fault if it isn't.

Handsnotwands · 17/05/2022 11:00

Same. I took the wise advice and went all out. 15 in 1 winging its way to me

AlternativelyWired · 17/05/2022 20:13

Quorn burger and chips in it tonight. Both in the crisper thingy. Done in 12 mins.
