To have not used an air fryer yet?

Thinking to buy one but not sure. Does food taste 'normal' in an air fryer? Anyone already got one? Would you recommend?

what is the difference between an air fryer and an instant pot?

An instant pot is an electric pressure cooker and an airfryer cooks food like a super quick over. Multi cookers does them both, plus a range of other stuff.

usernamenotaccepted · 05/05/2022 16:31

I need to leave MN now.

I just bought a Ninja Foodi.

usernamenotaccepted · 05/05/2022 16:33

Oh and having just joined the air fryer clan, does this mean i can finally dispose of the microwave which I only ever use to heat soup/beans/milk.

FourTeaFallOut · 05/05/2022 16:35

There's a saute setting that would do all that on the ninja.

Hot water and washing up liquid - put it in cook for 3 mins. Empty it out and then wipe.

Genius!

HRTQueen · 05/05/2022 16:47

LouLou198 · 05/05/2022 16:56

@HRTQueen I don't have one myself but I saw some smaller ones on the Aldi website this week.

woodhill · 05/05/2022 16:56

@cushioncovers

Hi what make is that one please

I did see one In Costco that I was tempted by

cushioncovers · 05/05/2022 18:08

It's the Gourmia one. It's very good.

woodhill · 05/05/2022 18:08

Yes thanks saw that

Does it take up too much space?

Ireolu · 05/05/2022 18:25

Best gadget ever. We don't use the oven anymore. We use it multiple times a day food is crisper and takes less time to cook. We r never going back.

AlternativelyWired · 05/05/2022 18:34

Does anyone have this one? Dd has me putting on the oven for one croissant or rather ate did before the fuel price increase. I bake my own bread and cakes and whatnot and chips, burgers, Yorkshire puddings, roast veg and potatoes. How would this do for that type of cooking?

Thank you LouLou

I shall pop there tomorrow

AlternativelyWired · 05/05/2022 18:40

It dehydrates stuff too. Excellent for my dried mango munchers.

HardRockOwl · 05/05/2022 18:51

@AlternativelyWired I bought this one today Ninja Foodi Health Grill and Air Fryer [AG301UK] 5.7 Litres, Brushed Steel and Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07YF98R2X/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_B04ZQ5S3P5ZK8HP1MAAF

I loved the look of it over the more traditional looking ones. Tried it for the first time this evening and it was brilliant

I'm going to try dehydrating apple slices in it this evening . Mango sounds nice!

TheFormidableMrsC · 05/05/2022 18:52

Best thing I've ever bought. Not used my massive range cooker since. Tonight I've done a lovely shepherds pie, I do roast dinners and literally anything you can think of. It is just a small oven but heats immediately and is very economical with electricity. I bought a bigger one than I needed and don't regret it. It's a brilliant gadget.

MarJau26 · 04/05/2022 21:49

I line it with foil and just throw it away when done. I wash it only once a week if that because it's never dirty.

So wasteful!

liveforsummer · 05/05/2022 19:02

I got one of the ninja food multi cookers a few months back and never used my oven since. Air fryer is fab. I also steam air fryed salmon and baby potatoes the other night (would normally require oven and hob and twice the washing up). Tastiest I've her had. I didn't actually know you could make a difference to something as simple as baby potatoes and the salmon was perfect

liveforsummer · 05/05/2022 19:03

Oh and super easy to clean. The non stick air fryer basket sits inside the cooking pot, both of which just wipe clean

AlternativelyWired · 05/05/2022 19:12

This is going to be a game changer when it comes to baking bread, right? My house is cold in winter and it takes hours for my bread dough to rise once, then another couple of hours for the second rise, and then there's a 30 minute bake time.

Are they noisy?

liveforsummer · 05/05/2022 19:49

My ninja is pretty noisy, yes. It has a really powerful fan. Don't notice it much after a couple of uses though.

JoeGoldberg · 05/05/2022 19:50

Mine is a cheap Tower one and it's not noisy at all.

AlternativelyWired · 05/05/2022 19:53

Just crank up the stereo then 😃

Alonglongway · 05/05/2022 20:17

I've got the Ninja Foodi multi cooker and the grill. Use both all the time. One pot cooking in the pressure cooker function is just fantastic - spag bol, cauliflower cheese. The multi cooker is a big beast and you need space for it.

I was drawn to the Ninja brand a few years ago when Jack Monroe mentioned using their little food chopper. That's still going strong too. Quality of the kit is very high

Cleanbedlinen12 · 05/05/2022 21:59

I just roasted a chicken! All crispy and juicy yum! While it was resting I chucked chipped potatoes shaken with a teeny bit of oil in. Perfect chips! And yummy cauliflower and potato cheesy thing.
who’d have thought a kitchen appliance would merit such discussion!
