so that the dinner I have cooked (only lasagne - but still, it's from scratch) won't be ruined?

And actually he wouldn't have phoned at all but I phoned him to see where he was.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

don't you have a microwave??? DH finds that most things re-heat perfectly well in them.......well he has to really as I always cook dinner around 6ish - and he doesn't eat until 10.30ish

iMum · 10/01/2008 18:35

It'll never happen. my dh phoned me at 5.15 to say he was leaving soon at 7 i called him and "oh yeah, im just on the train now" men!

PanicPants · 10/01/2008 18:37

I know, I hardly ever cook 'proper' meals on days I'm working as ds has tea at the cm, but today I thought I'd make the effort, and ds can have a bit of supper.

Don't know why I bother tbh.

Ds and I enjoyed our lasagne, his bit is in a low oven drying up

I find the most annoying is a phone call an hour past the time he should be in saying "I'm going to be a bit late.."

No shit, Sherlock!

sparklesandwine · 10/01/2008 19:00

lol i've just posted this on another thread!

ffs dp really does piss me off [AAArrrrggghhghghgh] fecker!

conversation as follows at 5pm:

me 'will you be late do you think? as i'm going to get tea ready early'

him 'no, i'm leaving in half an hour so will be home at 7'

blah blah end of conversation

in the meantime i prepare pots and onion gravy for sausage and mash

just now (6.20) i get a fecking text

him 'gone for a drink, will not be a late one'

so i phoned him

said it wouldn't be late but the people he has gone for a 'quick' drink with are notorious for going on benders!

don't get me wrong i don't mind him going out i'm just pissed off that i tried to be organised (for a change!) and now he's fecked off out ruining my organisation.....damn it

sparklesandwine · 10/01/2008 19:03

so no i really don't think YABU because if you are then i am too

i think its just a simple matter of consideration, i know sometimes it can't be helped, but i'm here with 4 DC trying to do homework, bathtime, bedtime, cleaning up and dinner and he's down the fecking pub!

yes it annoys me!

DaphneHarvey · 10/01/2008 19:08

Yanbu. My DH a serial offender. Yet on the nights when I'm 15 mins late home from work (and usually driving home) and he's looking after the dcs he phones to say "where are you?". Of course I always ignore the call [smug, not answering phone whilst driving emoticon].

Fecking fecker.

Cappuccino · 10/01/2008 19:11

hee hee we have this conversation lots in The Coffee House

dh will, instead of calling to say he will be 30 minutes late, run up the hill in order to save five minutes

just phone me from the office and walk, you muppet, and then I can put the tea on. There is v little difference to me between a man 30 minutes late, and a breathless man 25 minutes late

PanicPants · 10/01/2008 19:13

Why can't they phone BEFORE they are late. Would it kill them?

Fecking fecking fecking feckers.

Grin
meemar · 10/01/2008 19:15

YABU to expect a call because men are genetically programmed to be unable to do this

PanicPants · 10/01/2008 19:18

Yes meemar you're right [sigh] whatever was I thinking

sparklesandwine · 10/01/2008 19:48

lol meemar so it seems

KatieScarlett2833 · 13/01/2008 21:45

Don't cook for him. I stopped that YEARS ago. I feed me and kids because hubby can't commit to an arrival time. He's OK about it, too.

bonkerz · 13/01/2008 21:51

YANBU, DH never rings to tell me he will be late. He never answers his phone or texts either. When i ask him why he couldnt just text or ring me he says if he did that he would be even later!!!!!!!!! Mind oyu it takes DH half hour to write a text message so i do kind of see his point but still.....

JennaJ · 14/01/2008 18:57

LOL..this is my hubby all over too.

I eat with the kids now and he re-heats his when he finally shows up!
