Just thought I would start a follow on thread for anyone interested in the trial. I have kept it in AIBU so that it is easier for previous posters from Part 1 to find.
We are halfway through and have heard JD's testimony so next week we will hear from AH.

I believe it’s finished for today but if you go to the sky news website tomorrow afternoon there will be an option to watch live 🙂

I can’t believe what I’ve just witnessed, all the talk of Depps witness being on the payroll and that was their first witness. She didn’t even try to disguise the bias. Awful, just awful

Does anyone think they may be building a case to say she isn’t fit to give her testimony?

She definitely has something against JD and is not looking at it from a professional viewpoint.

She does seem very angry and like what AH has said is 100% the truth. We don't know if it is so how can she!

We've seen the same behaviours scattered throughout this thread abouy the uk court judgement to be sacrosanct and that her testimony should be believed unquestioningly

Not buying the Depp act. He sits there laughing, joking, rambling on 'poor me' on the stand. Not buying it one bit.

The laughing is his baseline. He does it when he's uncomfortable

it was so unprofessional so I’m assuming there was not the hearsay objections as they wanted to discredit her. She’s accused someone of sexual assault because the victim told her. As for low level violence being acceptable if the other person has power. I’m so angry to what this has done for domestic abuse victims. Everything she said might even had been true but that was not the way to do it.

I'm extremely angry with it and I'm the female victim of DV. She minimised slapping etc which is exactly what abusers themselves do. And I totally agree, she basically accused someone of rape and sexual assault based on the word of a woman who has actually been caught out in lies.

I’m with you on his behaviour. I feel it’s an act for the public not court.

@Flaxmeadow wouldn't you take someone to court though if they had made allegations that you firmly believed weren't true and that ruined your reputation? Only AH and JD know the truth but if he did suffer, he has the legal right to bring a case. Doesn't mean he's abusing via litigation

I was bemused rather than cross. It was so she/he with no real acknowledgement of female to male DA. There might be a game plan we haven’t guessed yet. After all The Sun won in 2020 despite people sympathising with depp.

Neither one of them looks good through this but I think AH looks far worse as a human being.

Dragging someone through court, especially women who are victims of fomestic violence, is sometimes used as abuse, as control. Depp could have walked away from this, he is an extremely wealthy man, he doesn't need the money. People would forgotten about it. He is the one responsible for the trial, twice now. Two trials.
