Delivery man has taken photo of me sunbathing

So it’s a nice day out and I was in my private front garden sunbathing, my parcel arrived and that’s fine I asked the delivery man to just pop it down next to my door, he didn’t he popped it down next to my chair where I was lying down, he’s then taken a photo of me and you can see my full body expect my face so from the neck down in this photo and then the parcel next to my chair. Iv seen this in the email which is my confirmation to say it parcel was delivered and seen the photo in the email. Who else would be able to see this photo?? I’m really not happy he’s done this taking a photo of me sunbathing when he’s only supposed to take a photo of my parcel I left front door open I wasn’t sat far away from my front door is way 6-8ft away, I live in a nice area it’s not like it would get stolen if he left it in my door way. I don’t know I’m just not happy and I think I should call the company and complain, was Hermes btw. Am I being unreasonable being this upset?

"You sound like ninnies who've been taken in by some sleazy courier. 'sorry love, I need to take a picture of you topless and holding the parcel. Orders from HQ"

Most of the women I know don't have the time or the inclination to lounge around sunbathing in their private front garden as they have a job.

What did Greybunny want from the delivery driver who gets paid peanuts to give her what she has ordered online?

FeetupTvon · 30/04/2022 14:32

Yes, delivery drivers require a photo of the parcel as well as the recipient. It so happened you were sunbathing at the time. No big deal.

Why are people claiming he needs a photo of the OP with the parcel?

You sound like ninnies who've been taken in by some sleazy courier. 'sorry love, I need to take a picture of you topless and holding the parcel. Orders from HQ'.

Because they do now - because too many people claim parcels have never arrived or are stolen.

If OP doesn't want people to see her topless she shouldn't be topless (she didn't say she was) she should be clothed when expecting a parcel.

Roundandroundandroundwego · 30/04/2022 14:37

@MurderAtTheBeautyPageant why would I be feeling gullible? Enlightenment me with your intelligence.

Quite right to chastise the indolent OP for lazing about on a Saturday. She could have been scrubbing her front step.

pedropony76 · 30/04/2022 14:40

Anyone who works for Hermes can see it but they won't look unless the delivery is disputed so the more you complain the more people will see it.

Yep this. I work for Hermes and the only people that have access to the picture are Hermes employees. However no one goes looking through pictures unless you send through a dispute/complaint. We then use the parcel ID number to have a look at tracking and any pictures taken. So if you don’t complain, no one will see it. The drivers aren’t able to go back and view previous pictures they’ve taken. It’s just for proof that they’ve delivered the parcel

You could of course have actually got up off your arse and taken the parcel from him rather than staying there issuing commands like lady muck - so rude!

Exactly this. You could have got up and received the delivery like most people would do. Presume you are wanting compo, delivery driver sacked….?

It’s not uncommon. The delivery drivers around where I live have a few photos of parcels next to my pyjama’d legs and slippered feet.

Must be a localised fetish.

ZenNudist · 30/04/2022 14:45

Really rude to just lie there like he's a servant. Get up. Put on a t-shirt. Accept the parcel. Unsurprising he needs a person in the photo as proof

Oysterbabe · 30/04/2022 14:46

DPD ploaded this picture. My husband accused me of flirting with the delivery driver 😂

I would have sat up, grabbed a towel and then taken delivery of the parcel.

Not lay there sunbathing while pointing him in the direction of the front door. It seems a bit disrespectful. Same as I wouldn't have answered the door in just a bikini either.

lemmein · 30/04/2022 14:47

I sell online and the amount of people who claim they haven't received their parcels when I have proof they have is insane. I don't blame him for covering himself. I'd be really annoyed if a customers photo was just my parcel near their front door, that isn't proof and gives them a legitimate claim.

FourTeaFallOut · 30/04/2022 14:48

As all the pps, proof of delivery requires a human in the photo.

Totally off topic, I'm green with envy you are sunbathing. It's 16c and overcast here. I'm sat outside thinking I'm going to need to go back in for a jumper.

"Quite right to chastise the indolent OP for lazing about on a Saturday. She could have been scrubbing her front step."

Oo er is that a euphemism? Sounds like it might be a bit late for that!

teacherorpreacher · 30/04/2022 14:52

Maybe he didn't want to put the parcel in the front door in case he got into trouble for entering your house uninvited. I feel sorry for delivery drivers they have a very tight schedule and I do believe they have to take a photo of where they leave the parcel. Incidentally you would have had a notification of the time frame of the delivery so if you knew that you could have a cover to put over you when you saw him

You could say it was your girlfriend's legs in the pic :)

Honestly, tell him from a bloke he sounds ridiculous.

CatsAreCrackers · 30/04/2022 15:03

Another one who is curious as to why you didn't get up and take your parcel from him. Seems a bit rude and entitled to send him to your front door when you could have just taken it from him, I assume you had a T-shirt or towel handy if you were sunbathing topless or something, especially since you said you were talking to him. Weird!

whichoneis · 30/04/2022 15:06

@Oysterbabe You have very pink feet, especially compared to the colour of your legs.

LetHimHaveIt · 30/04/2022 15:06

Didn't your housekeeper direct him to the tradesman's entrance?

PaperLanterns · 30/04/2022 15:08

Think you’ve just got to work out what you want to get out of it if you complain.

@FionnulaTheCooler - that’s probably my favourite book ever.

Thetoasterhasbroken · 30/04/2022 15:12

I am totally missing the point but where the heck in the U.K. are you where the weather is good enough to sunbathe? I’m in the South and have on a vest top, jumper, coat and a hot water bottle on the go AND that’s inside lol!
My Hermes delivery driver always takes a photo of the parcel and front door.
Its not worth trying to email or phone them OP, they are the most elusive company in the universe.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 30/04/2022 15:13

I get things delivered a fair bit and I've always had them take a photo with me partly in it. Why didn't you get up so they could get a photo with your feet?

Roundandroundandroundwego · 30/04/2022 15:15

@Thetoasterhasbroken I'm in Yorkshire and just had to put aftersun together n I'm burnt today 😁. But I still got off my arse when postman came.

DaisyQuakeJohnson · 30/04/2022 15:15

If they can get a photo of a person with the parcel then that's what they do. A door doesn't prove that someone received it. Did you really lie sunbathing whilst waving him towards the door with the parcel as though he was a servant? That's pretty rude.

girlmom21 · 30/04/2022 15:17

@Thetoasterhasbroken I'm in the midlands and we did a bbq at lunch time, just for our household. DP's sunburnt and all my freckles on my face are out Grin
