I was brought up in Lancashire, the chip shops sell butties with just about anything from the chip, so chip butty, fish butty, meat and potato pie butty - all staples.

Not a meal but I quite like the odd Oxo cube as a snack.

What's weird about mint sauce on roast potatoes?

This! I had cold bol sauce on hot buttered toast for breakfast, divine!

I like hot chips (or indeed any frozen oven-cooked potato product) with soy sauce. Salty umami goodness.

Ready made mashed potato with corned beef mashed in. Loads of ketchup and a glass of milk. My husband thinks it’s minging. I love it 😋

Very nice if you then fry it in a very hot pan to get a crunchy bottom, much more desirable than a soggy bottom on Bake Off.

Quite agree. Fry it in a hot pan, flip and fry the other side. Serve with a fried egg on top. Food of the gods.

A meal we genuinely called 'slop'

Campbell's tinned meatballs with gravy, instant mashed potato and ketchup, all mashed up into 'slop' consistency

Looked like dog food but tasted so damn good. Do not come for me until you try it

my favourite dinner is tinned tuna mixed with onions and Mayo with potatoes and beans. Anyone I tell this to seems to think it’s an odd combo, it’s comfort food for me. You can get baked potatoes with beans and tuna in cafes, it’s the same thing 🤷🏻‍♀️

I never liked peanut butter so as a child didn't care for the classic American kid's snack/lunch of peanut butter and jelly (jam) so my mother made me cream cheese and jam on white bread. I still love it, preferably with raspberry or fig jam.

Lettuce and Mayo sandwiches. Nothing else. I dont think its weird as such, but anyone who sees me eating it says it is, so I guess it must be! It has to be iceberg lettuce though and really crunchy.

When I was pregnant, I used to crave ice cubes-to chew and crunch though. It used to make DH shudder.

Pasta with Philadelphia and sweetcorn.

Jacket potato with tuna and beans... apparently it's weird to mix hot and cold 🤷‍♀️ coleslaw and beans on a jacket is also lovely 🤤

Oh no I love mixing hot and cold! I like things like curry and chilli on cold crispy salad instead of rice.

Sometimes I just fry slices of aubergine and eat that for dinner.

To really meal but cheese and jam sarnies but it’s very specific. Bread must be fresh thick and white, real butter, extra mature cheddar and strawberry jam (although raspberry is ok never blackcurrant or the abomination that is apricot)😍
