I'm a Christian and when I hear people use the words 'Jesus' or 'Jesus Christ' as a swear word, it's like nails down a blackboard for me. It gives me such a serious ice and makes me so uncomfortable in a way that nothing else does.

Thejoyfulstar · 24/04/2022 01:58

Toilet, snot, snotty, belly, shit, shag, shagging, hubby. (When people describe their children as being a bit ‘snotty’ it makes me feel a bit sick for some reason.)

bozna · 24/04/2022 02:54

@Thejoyfulstar I admit to saying 'Jesus Christ' etc without thinking as not a swear word, but so realise I shouldn't be saying it as it's not nice. There's no escaping swear words though kids hear them everywhere, just need to explain where and when they can or can't say them

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 24/04/2022 02:56

Apparently some form of bread. But I just can't say the word 🤢

Entitled.

That’s because people use it on Mumsnet to mean arrogant, presumptuous or selfish rather than what it does mean.

Thejoyfulstar · 24/04/2022 05:15

@bozna I totally get it, I used to swear like a sailor in my pre Ned Flanders days and think the JC thing is often just a habit a lot of the time. Even when I read it on here, my eyes have a mini bleed especially if it's 'Jesus effing Christ'. I need the smelling salts for that one!

‘Little’. Not when it’s used normally but when it’s used in a cutesy way, especially on here.

’A little part-time job’
‘Our own little family’
