I've cut down on my calories and can fit into my jeans again. Only lost five pounds but it's made a big difference. 😊 What nice things have happened to you this week?

Currently away in Madinah and seeing people sharing their iftar meals with the stray cats. Was a really beautiful sight to see.

My partner was there 4 years ago and he told me about all the cats in the Mosque and how he used to feed the same mother cat and her kittens whilst he was there.
I remember the photos he sent and I couldn’t believe there were so many cats there but they all looked well fed.

George Ezra announced he's touring again in September.
I saw him last week in Manchester and loved it so I'm v excited.
I'm also going to Aberdeen to see him this time, (I live near Glasgow), to coincide with my friend who lives there's 50th birthday so something to look forward to.

the80sweregreat · 23/04/2022 08:31

Ispy
George Ezra is also going to be playing at platinum jubilee party in June at Buckingham palace , it'll probably be on the tele I would imagine.

littleburn · 23/04/2022 08:35

I had a 2nd and 3rd date with a lovely guy and am seeing him again tomorrow 😊

Sickoffamilydrama · 23/04/2022 08:53

Switched DD school she is autistic and has SEN and really been struggling after the lockdowns she was testing as 3-4 years behind her peers and the old school didn't seem to care only did stuff after I pushed. So she has been in the new school 3 days we went to an event yesterday and she's already made a group of friends and a couple of the teachers said she's really come out of her shell and asking questions.

I'm so pleased ☺️ I actually slept properly last night I've been so worried about her not having a chance in life.

She also caught the bus by herself which is a huge achievement 🙌🙌🙌

the80sweregreat · 23/04/2022 10:05

Ahh, that's so nice about your daughter !

CharSiu · 23/04/2022 10:19

I had lunch with one of my ex work colleagues, it was wonderful seeing her.

DH and I have discovered a really lovely 1.5 hour walk that’s a short drive from our house, really beautiful.

We had a games night last night with DS and his GF, I laughed so much I cried.

Thanks I can't believe how much lighter I feel today 😁

Nsky62 · 23/04/2022 12:09

😊

Nsky62 · 23/04/2022 12:14

How lovely, long time since I had any dates or man

Sickoffamilydrama · 23/04/2022 19:51

I miss the excitement of dates especially when you are really into the other person and get all excited, now if DH get any time together we are both far to shattered to enjoy it.

I danced in the kitchen this week with DH which was nice we used to go clubbing nearly every night and both love to dance.

I had a baby recently and yesterday my lovely dad arrived from the other side of the world. Today he gave my three photo albums he’s been working on for about a year - photos of my grandparents; my parents childhood and then their lives together; me as a baby and mine and my sisters childhoods; photos he’s found of mine from high school; and pictures my friends put together for my baby shower; photos of my life in London he’s found on social media; photos of all my aunties uncles and cousins, and then the final album has photos of when my partner and I started seeing each other; my pregnancy and my baby arriving and most of it is then left blank for me to complete 😭💕

PoTayToes80 · 23/04/2022 20:03

(They’re HUGE albums and all with handwritten annotations from him)

majorquimby · 23/04/2022 20:08

Another new job here! I really didn't think I'd got it as it had gone really quiet. I'm so excited about it, and it's quite a bit of extra money too. We've had a shit couple of years financially (courtesy of covid / Brexit) and it will be so nice to get to the end of the month with some money in the bank rather than counting the pennies til payday.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/04/2022 20:10

@Sickoffamilydrama that’s so lovely, hope she continues to thrive 😘

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/04/2022 20:12

@PoTayToes80 ahhh so is that! What a lovely dad!

Sickoffamilydrama · 23/04/2022 20:21

Thanks @BigSandyBalls2015 I think she will the school has such a warm vibe. She actually told DH today that she liked it which is high praise. It's actually my old school and was a bit of a haven for me so glad it's culture doesn't seem to have changed.

mamaduckbone · 23/04/2022 20:23

I had a lovely chat with ds16 last night- picked him up from a party and caught a glimpse of his new girlfriend, and he actually volunteered some details about her.
We were invited to friends' for an impromptu drink in the garden this afternoon - the sun shone and we had a really good catch up. Their daughter (also 16), who's been going through a rough time recently, seems much happier.

OhThatChicken · 23/04/2022 20:24

I took the DC to a birthday party today and it was actually just lovely. No different to dozens of bouncy-castle-in-halls-paloozas we've done over the years but they had a fab time, were well behaved, were beaming with how much they enjoyed it. No-one bounced into a wall and injured themselves. I ate home made sausage rolls and drank coffee and chatted to a couple of friends and I just had a moment when I looked round the room and thought 'do you know what, this is the stuff'.

SalsaLove · 23/04/2022 20:25

My cat came in for a cuddle. Adopted 2 years ago as an adult. We’re so bonded and I’m so grateful.

Shiningstarr · 23/04/2022 20:28

I found out my daughter has got a place in the school she wants, after needing to change choices.

Justcallmebebes · 23/04/2022 20:33

I saw my lovely ex MIL for the first time in 2 years. She's in a care home and they've just dropped restrictions

MangoLipstick · 23/04/2022 20:33

My toddler dd picked me a daisy from our garden & as she handed it to me, said ‘I love you mummy’
It was just so sweet, I was beaming.

morechocolateneededtoday · 23/04/2022 22:33

It dawned on me today that I have been able to cook meals that I want to eat with plenty of veg (not mushed up and concealed) and both DC have eaten them. We've had a long hard road with DD's fussy eating and I can't even describe how much I used to dread meal times when she was younger.

It is an absolute joy to be able to eat as a family without stress and I will never underestimate the pleasure again

OfstedOffred · 24/04/2022 07:26

Morechocolate can you tell us how you achieved this!!
