Ok I know he is a fictional character but every time I see the original film he makes my blood boil.

20 years he sat in that bed watching his family work their fingers to the bone ,Charlie wins a golden ticket and good old grandpa Joe's dancing round the bed Yelling "Take me take me" WTF If I was mrs Bucket I would have thrown the cabbage soup all over him.

he is 96 and a half and is depressed all day until charlie comes to talk to them and then he becomes like a little boy again

i think the films did him an injustice
