AIBU for thinking boob job isn't worth it?

Name change for this one.
My poor tits have been ravaged by three children and weight loss ( very lucky to have had the kids and the weight loss was a happy one). They are much smaller and much more uneven than they once were. I would love to have a boob job to restore my once full bosom.

However research (and one friend) has taught me that if I was to go through with this then I would need the implants would need to be replaced every 10-20 years with a possible uplift (which leaves a huge amount of scarring). If the implants are removed you without replacing you tend to be left with breasts worse than you began with,

I have seen one surgeon who recommended an uplift and implant. When I asked about replacement surgery in 10 + years he acted shifty but sort of agreed it was inevitable?!

So if I have a boob job now, I need to be committed to having 10K put aside at any one time to have the implants replaced every ten years otherwise they may leak and cause other problems. Is this right?

So many women have boob jobs that I am shocked to learn the commitment to spending possibly 50k over the course of a life time on tits!

@passport123

Of course they're not worth it. Only those who are immensely shallow and probably lacking in self confidence would go through surgery for no medical reason.
Then I’m immensely shallow and more than happy to be Grin

I can’t say I’ve ever concerned myself with the moral judgements of anyone else on my own choices, so I’m not sure where that puts my confidence level.

Are you always so judgemental?

Non of my friends have had to replace implants. If you want them I’d go ahead tbh

This has given me lots to think about. It does seem that women aren't aware of the risks and the unlikeliness of implants lasting a lifetime. This shows on here with posters sharing anecdotal stories of friends who haven't had to have implants replaced - well you hopefully wouldn't in the first 20 years but if you leave it longer then the risks are bigger and that's my concern.

I am going to look into auto augmentation, never heard of it before.
