To ask how many Easter eggs have you eaten today?

lumos3 · 17/04/2022 18:13

Oh god.

I've had two and half Easter eggs, a creme egg and a small bag of chocolate buttons Blush

Awful I know. But I have the awful mentality that I should eat it all now rather than let it derail my healthy eating by eating bits every day. I know this is dysfunctional...I also find it hard to stop once I start.

Can anyone beat me?

Nice try trying to disguise your fat shaming!

If you’re so slim and healthy why is this thread triggering you?

Genuinely wondering. I work in MH via an ED pathway as a practitioner. I deal with the aftermath of people fat shaming others into disorders.

Not triggered jolly.

But keep projecting.

I am allowed to be surprised by this.

Others also don’t do this!

Why are you so triggered but what I’m saying?

People are trying to normalise this - it’s not normal.

And don’t pretend that ED are simply due to fat-shaming. You wilfully misrepresent the complexity of this and I’m doing so, do the sufferers of Ed’s no favours at all.

And I note that you apparently think that other people leaving food in restaurants is their issue because they have small appetites, not because they’ve been served insane portions. So you apparat to ‘slim-shame’

Not great practice for a practitioner in this field is it.

But who is invested in consumption of lots of calories in one go?

A slim-shaming practitioner working in ED.

Ok then!

@Quincythequince I really don’t get where you’ve got the impression anyone is saying it is ‘normal’ behaviour to not be able to stop eating chocolate, it is actually not a good thing, you’re quite right, well done to you. I think any multiple Easter egg eaters know that what they’re doing is not healthy but hopefully for the majority it’s just a seasonal blip in an otherwise healthy diet. If it’s not then your posts aren’t going to make situation any better and will only make them feel worse.

Let it go now, even though it’s kind of amusing how het up you’re getting about it all. It’s kept me entertained to be fair and if I hadn’t been so busy reading your posts I might have eaten an extra Easter egg today, so thanks!

Kbear · 18/04/2022 19:58

None I've just lost nearly 2 stone with SW so no way was I going to blow it with Easter eggs! I went for a 10k walk today to take my mind off them sitting there staring at me lol

Quincythequince · 18/04/2022 20:01

No issue with your posts nose and we were having a reasonable enough exchange.

But when someone tries to maintain that you are weird for being surprised at ‘atypical’ behaviour (which I have already said ‘fair enough’ to) and then accuse you of having food issues and fat shaming, which I don’t and I don’t believe I have, then I will respond.

I don’t think that unreasonable.

I wish you a good evening.

GalactatingGoddess · 18/04/2022 20:11

Not enough!

hamstersarse · 18/04/2022 20:14

I always thought chocolate Easter eggs were treats for kids.

It’s a strange thing adults / parents bingeing out on chocolate eggs, isn’t it?!?

Lastqueenofscotland · 18/04/2022 20:15

0 but I have one that I’ll be nailing when it get home

I think anyone is allowed to enjoy an Easter egg. I personally think the chocolate tastes nicer in egg form but I’ve no idea why!
Elphame · 18/04/2022 20:32

None

PurpleDaisies · 18/04/2022 20:40

Nothing wrong with adults celebrating Easter with eggs. Dh and I usually get each other one every year.

caringcarer · 18/04/2022 21:36

None but only because we went away today. We are eating them tomorrow.

rainyskylight · 18/04/2022 22:11

I agree that chocolate eggs are for children and that the over indulgence is gr*ss.

PurpleDaisies · 18/04/2022 22:29

I’ve never seen “gross” typed with an asterisk before. Confused

FreezyFreezy · 18/04/2022 22:40

I had 1 today and two kitkat bunnies. I have 2 larger eggs left and will eat them over the next couple of days.

Nosetickle · 19/04/2022 07:10

Those saying Easter eggs are only for children I’m curious why you think that?

Have you not been in a supermarket at Easter and seem all the eggs aimed at adults ?Confused

I'm with the pp who loves Dairy Milk, I can't eat dark chocolate but DM is delicious.

Every person I know does too, I have a big circle of friends too. Absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Nosetickle · 19/04/2022 08:24

The way I see it there are lots of things only adults can do and children can’t but surely the beauty of being an adult is that you can do what you want. If you fancy having an Easter egg (or three) then do it. If you don’t then don’t?

hamstersarse · 19/04/2022 09:33

@Nosetickle

It's just a "where are the adults these days?" type of thing

I just find it representative of a wider problem that adults and parents believe they are worth it and constantly need pampering and given 'treats'

How a grown adult with responsibility gets fun from a chocolate egg is just a bit strange. And is definitely quite new.

I don't remember my parents, or any adults from my childhood, describing the fun they had by gorging on chocolate

I know it's not huge, but it's also not nothing. I find it weird.

PurpleDaisies · 19/04/2022 09:42

So adults think that buy Easter eggs for each other are doing it because they think they’re worth it? What about Christmas presents? Or birthday presents?

PurpleDaisies · 19/04/2022 09:43

There’s an excess “think” in that sentence!
