To attempt to buy Easter eggs, or am I way too late?

I need a couple of large Easter eggs. Local supermarket yesterday had sold out.

Have I left it too late and its the same everywhere? Or are there any shops with loads left?...

Try small shops, garages, off licenses. They still have plenty in my area but none in big supermarkets

rc22 · 16/04/2022 08:50

I went in to tescos at about 6pm yesterday and they were restocking the shelves with hundreds of eggs. Standard size ones too not just the big expensive ones.

Lady0racle · 16/04/2022 08:52

You’re best bet is probably a local store or corner shop. The supermarkets here were all sold out yesterday but the OneStop still had quite a few left.

Lady0racle · 16/04/2022 08:52

*Your not you’re obvs.

IncompleteSenten · 16/04/2022 08:53

No idea. I've got a Tesco shop coming this afternoon that includes eggs. I'm not hopeful.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 16/04/2022 08:54

Loads in our local Tesco on Wednesday but I suspect it's very different now!

Roselilly36 · 16/04/2022 08:59

I was caught like this last year, I bought early this year, but Lidl had loads yesterday, and last year when I with giving up hope a small co-op had some left. Good luck.

FredaFox · 16/04/2022 09:00

My local b&m had them yesterday but M&S had none

Cheesechips · 16/04/2022 09:00

Plenty in lidl last night around 8.

ChorltonCreamery · 16/04/2022 09:02

Went to get petrol; there was M&S attached which had them floor to ceiling.

RedMake88 · 16/04/2022 09:02

Loads in Sainsburys yesterday

Rememberitwell · 16/04/2022 09:04

Lots in Tesco yesterday. I would say more than in previous years for some reason.

Bunnyfuller · 16/04/2022 09:05

Buy them a book instead of a chocolate egg. Much better for them and it lasts!

Ours used to get eggs from the GP etc so we always bought them a book. They get money now.

Jmaho · 16/04/2022 09:05

Our local Tesco Extra has absolutely nothing Easter related left. I went in last week and they had a whole aisle of eggs and a lot of things on the ends of aisles too and when you first went in. Yesterday nothing at all
They do still have quite a lot at the Aldi near me and at the co op. I'm sure if you have a drive around you will find something somewhere. Our local shop also has loads left (it's a Premier shop I think) but probably because they are so expensive

Hophop26 · 16/04/2022 09:06

Petrol stations would be my first try of going today

ABitBesottedWithMyDog · 16/04/2022 09:08

Tons locally. Muslim area, though

Skyeheather · 16/04/2022 09:08

Try the small supermarkets, my local Tesco Express had loads right on the top of the shelves, I'm sure most people don't even look that high up!

ScarlettSunset · 16/04/2022 09:09

I think it varies by area. My local Tesco still had loads yesterday afternoon, but my friend in another area said they struggled to get any in their Tesco on Thursday (they only had the really expensive ones left)

NameChChChChanges1 · 16/04/2022 09:13

I was in an M&S yesterday and they had loads

comfortablyfrumpy · 16/04/2022 09:15

Loads in Aldi last night

user1471538283 · 16/04/2022 09:16

Tesco had some yesterday.

Last year I only managed to find one for my DS. I ended up buying my God children nice chocolate.

A few years ago I got reduced rabbits from thorntons!

Blueskythinking123 · 16/04/2022 09:18

M&S BP garage had lots last night near me. I guess it's those kind of places you maybe more likely to get something.

LampLighter414 · 16/04/2022 09:21

Local Tesco Extra looked overstocked on Thursday. I suspect they will have a lot left that they need to reduce to half price on Easter Sunday and Monday.

Saying that it was mainly eggs for £3 and above, I think the small ones for about £1-2 usually always sell out early. I always buy a handful of them on £1 offers well in advance to avoid having to spend a fortune on larger eggs nearer the time.

hamdden12 · 16/04/2022 09:22

Try a Tesco express. Every year they are always left with a good selection because people overlook them and they don't usually carry the offers that larger Tesco stores have.

garlicandsapphires · 16/04/2022 09:23

Loads in sainsburys this morning
