AIBU to think that Peppa Pig World is better than Legoland?

Hello,

About it to book a day out for my nephew. Can't decide between Legoland and Peppa Pig World. He's three. Which is better for a three year old?

Legoland is mediocre IMO. most of the rides are generic off the shelf theme park attractions, with little or nothing to do with lego.

PPW is the opposite in the sense that each ride is more or less fully bespoke to the park &/or is well steeped in Peppa Pig 'lore'.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 14/04/2022 13:50

Better for a 3 yo!

Only thing I’ve agreed with Johnson about

kirinm · 14/04/2022 13:51

@TeenPlusCat I'd have seen that as a plus (and was actually my plan to take DD out of term time while we still can).

Fieldofflowers22 · 14/04/2022 13:52

Paultons. 100%. Been there twice. The first time we just did Peppa World and the second time when the kids were a little older we got to explore the rest of the park. Brilliant.

CoralPaperweight · 14/04/2022 13:52

Not been to PPW as too far away but really really disappointed with Legoland last year. Very expensive for what you got. Wouldn't recommend. Alton Towers CBeebies land on the other hand was great

TheGirlWhoLived · 14/04/2022 13:53

Paul tons is amazing- best theme park ever for that age- not money grabbing, lovely and clean, loads of resting places for littlies and happy staff!

That makes no sense.
Are you comprehending it right?
Term time = children in school = less busy for others
out of term time = children on holiday = more busy for everyone

Northbynorthbreast · 14/04/2022 14:15

@kirinm if you get a thrill from angry toddlers in long queues then it’s definitely the right time to go in the holidays :)

itsgettingweird · 14/04/2022 14:24

Both are fab in their own way but definitely made the right choice for a 3 yo.

We got annual passes for Paulroms every year from when ds was 3 until about 7 and then switched to legoland passes.

Paul tons has also expanded over the years to bigger and better rides for older children and I'd love to visit again but ds (now 17) likes to visit chessington!

IchBinAnnaOfCleves · 14/04/2022 14:43

Mine loved PP world when they were younger. They’ve been to Legoland and it’s a bit shit. We live really close to Windsor and only went once or twice as it’s so expensive and not that great.
Gullivers in Milton Keynes was also a big hit.

Lonelycrab · 14/04/2022 14:48

Paultons no contest. Legoland is busy, dirty, expensive and dull in comparison.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 14/04/2022 14:52

@Wheniruletheworld

Boris Johnson seems to be a big fan of Peppa Pig world...
Apparently it is not reciprocal. 🐖 Snort snort

Paultons Park was brilliant. My kids went round and round on a mini dinosaur coaster there. There was no queue, and they just kept running around and riding again. They didn't even need an adult to ride with them, so I could just chill and enjoy watching them riding over and over until they'd had enough. How often does that happen at a theme park?!

I have never seen a quiet day at Legoland yet, and we've been a few times. The queues are always massive, and I have noticed people starting to lose their shit at about 3pm. Overwhelmed, crying 3 year olds, and their exasperated parents who wondered why they bothered coming in the first place. It's a bit of a rip off. Which is a shame, because we love Lego in general.

@bellamountain

Absolutely, it's so clean as well.
my Uni student DS's holiday job is to clean Peppa Pig world!! He was there at 7am in the holidays with the leaf blower and litter picker!

Occasionally he was allowed to drive the litter hoover thing - and he crashed it! Grin

Jumping on as was thinking the same for my DDs 3rd birthday. Think been sold.
But would you take a pushchair or is it too awkward for queues etc?

blubberball · 14/04/2022 15:09

Pushchair should be a good idea

Nearly everyone has a pushchair so they are just all left together outside each ride.

@TeenPlusCat my question arose because @ChickinMarango suggested going in term time which confused me. You then said don't go into term time (which is what my plan was).

No I didn't!

You asked why term time, and I answered saying it was 'less busy in term time'.

Chickin and I both think that term time is less busy and there a better time to visit than in school holidays.

Lonelycrab · 14/04/2022 15:54

We’ve only ever been in school holidays and the queues weren’t that bad, although my ds is too old for the Peppa pig bit, they may be busier but it’s only one part of the park.

Top tip- last time we went, we got there later than normal, around 1-2pm. By the time it gets to around 4 the place really thins out and you can pretty much walk straight onto many of the rides, no queues at all, in that last hour or so you can do so many more compared to around lunchtime.

stairway · 14/04/2022 15:58

No point going to legoland without a q bot. You’ll just queue for ages and not go on many rides making a boring and frustrating day out.

kirinm · 14/04/2022 16:00

@TeenPlusCat 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don't know why but I have been reading term time as when all the kids are off which very clearly is the opposite. Sorry. Not sure why my brain struggled with that!

Legoland gets packed and my dd when she was 3 was scared of getting lost and got trampled on a couple of times in the water park/toddler bit.

modgepodge · 14/04/2022 16:45

Love PP world, we went in December and are going again next week. December was school holidays but the queues weren’t bad at all, except the helicopter one which was 30 mins ish. It’s free if under 1m but there’s loads to go on at that age.

Also did CBeebies land in the summer holidays and was pleasantly surprised it wasn’t too busy. Again free (under a certain age or height, can’t remember which) but if under 90cm there are only about 4 rides they can do. But there’s a big park and 3 different shows which my daughter loved.

Have been to legoland in school trips so term time and it’s been fine. Would be reluctant to go in school holidays as I’ve heard so many negative stories!!
