To miss the young child years

Sitting here in tears after a day with a very moody teen and my other DC heading in same direction. I know there are far more important things like being safe and healthy of course but does anyone miss the younger version of their kids? My oldest was such a mummy’s boy and hung on my every word / plus literally clung on to me, the excitement of everything from first cuddle in the morning to a new discovery on a walk to the duck pond. It’s probably pmt talking but would love to go back for a day!

@YukoandHiro I get it. My daughter has complex needs and her baby/toddler years were so hard. It all faded though and you miss the baby snuggles.

But yes it isn't easy at all.

I work in early years so get a dose of younger years every day but my own children are 23,21,16 and 12. I don’t miss them being young although I enjoy memories of when they were. I like the young adults they’ve become. I admit that I am secretly looking forward to being a grandparent, although hopefully not just yet.
