If she hadn’t of been held captive she would of had this baby years ago. In the U.K. everyone gets the chance unless they commit a crime.

Good on her for doing what she wants now she’s out of her dads and conservers hands. I also with her good health and all the support she needs for herself and the baby and which her money she can pay for any help she does needs. She needs to be able to live her life and actually try to give it a shot she was porned out for all she could make at a young age then forced to preform like a monkey she’s never been allowed to be her and now at 40! She finally can. What’s sad is that it’s taken this long for her to have control of her life. If it all goes south it will be fixed all eyes are going to be on her forever which also isn’t good however for her.

Her boyfriend / fiancee / husband didn't appear out of the woodwork. They have been together six years and have been together a lot during that time. I have no idea if he is in it for the paycheck but even if he is, he has stuck by Britney during 6 very hard years, during which time she hasn't always been well, and she talks about him as one of the only positive and supportive people in her life. So regardless of this motivation, he is a positive benefit to her and is committed and present.

I sincerely hope so, however given her past and what I believe she's suffering from, I honestly can't see it.

It's fantastic that she has some degree of agency back, but her behaviour on instagram shows she's still seriously unwell and lacking in capacity to take responsible decisions. She has every right to do what she wants with her life, but sometimes people need protected from themselves for good reason.

I'm really pleased for her. It's clearly a much wanted baby and she can afford plenty of support. I don't follow her Instagram, but how does it compare with, say, the artist formerly known as Kanye West? He's still freely going about his life and has four kids, plus could father more at any time.

Isn't one of the reasons her dad not letting her take her contraceptive IUD out becuase she wanted to get pregant. Now she can/,has and I am not surprised. The child is wanted and domething Britney waited for.

Good for her. Many women have babies with mental health issues so I'm not sure why people are speculating about or claiming it should prevent her from being a mother again.

This thread is going to be like that Jimmy saville zombie thread in a few years. This is going to end badly. I am a fan of hers / being a fan doesn’t mean just blindly shouting “SHE IS GREAT SHE IS GREAT”, it also means recognising she isn’t ok and needs help.

Good luck to her! She's had a huge chunk of her life stolen from her and unlike many celebs she's one that comes across as genuinely a good egg much like Dolly Parton. I think any criticism of her is rather unbecoming. She's been through hell and back and is still here to tell the tale.

I wish her happiness she deserves it after everything she's been through.

She had her sons very close together and was probably suffering from postnatal depression when she had the breakdown that led to her being put in a completely immoral and abusive conservatorship. She had talked about wanting more children for years but wasn't allowed to do so.

A very good point. Kanye is clearly mentally unstable and potentially abusive, but there just isn't the same hand-wringing is there??

^^I agree with this, sadly.

I was happy for her that the conservatorship ended as it seemed excessive but I don't think she's a well individual. That's not gossip, it's based on her presentation, posts and comments. Maybe that's partly due to being held by the conservatorship, maybe it's her mental health - probably a combination of both.

Also, though, this is zero surprise. She's been wanting this for ages and has spoken openly about being refused to have her birth control removed.

I sincerely hope this balances her and it works out OK. I can't imagine the hell of losing custody of your children, and what she went through with losing her boys. Honestly, I can't see this ending well but we can hope. For her sake AND the child. Sincerely hope we're not back here talking about her losing custody of a third child in years to come as I think that would truly break what seems to be her very fragile mental health.

If you think there was a legitimate reason for her conservatorship then you can't have been reading anything about it.

The age isn't relevant, really, since 40 is far from an unusual age to have a child.

I don't follow her and know very little about her current circumstances, so all I can say is that I wish her a healthy pregnancy and happy future.

A woman who spent half her life having to be perfect and pretty and controlled chooses to be dishevelled and wacky on the Internet and people can't stand it.
