.....to wash soiled dog bedding in washing machine?

lockdownlady871 · 07/04/2022 15:33

Puppy did a poo in her cage last night, I cleaned and rinsed it off then washed on a hot wash. DH lost his shit and says we need a new washing machine. I have done another cycle with disinfectant and figure that is fine. Have always washed dog beds in there.
He says we have vastly different levels of hygiene....

I'd do the same as you OP, But yes keen to find out what the PP's did to make ther cat shit in their slippers?!!

3beesinmybonnet · 07/04/2022 16:16

Next time just hand the pooey items to your DH to deal with himself in his own ultra hygienic way. Bet he never mentions it again.
PS hide the rubber gloves first!

tolerable · 07/04/2022 16:17

i wouldnt wash poo or vomit..man woman child or animal.

pleasejustgjvemeabreak · 07/04/2022 16:17

Tell him that in future he can wash any soiled bedding etc by hand

I guess you don’t have kids or animals then? This man presumably knew he was getting a puppy and so was prepared to clean its mess.
NeverDropYourMooncup · 07/04/2022 16:23

@Blossomtoes

Your cat shat in your slippers *@Herja*? What the hell did you do to it for it to inflict such a horrible punishment?
DP's ex insisted upon keeping his cat.

The poor thing promptly expressed its displeasure at this change in circumstance by regularly going into the wardrobe and shitting in her very expensive shoes.

According to him, he loved the cat in the first place, but he absolutely worshipped it after that.

junglejane66 · 07/04/2022 16:26

I find its the dog hairs that are the issue, I'd never wash a dog bed or blanket in the machine, they get stuck in there for weeks.

Cherrysoup · 07/04/2022 16:27

I would have probably hosed it, sprayed with antibacterial stuff then washed it in my wash bag-got it so I could wash horse fleeces at home and not clog the filter. It keeps all bits/hair in the bag, I highly recommend it for detachable mop covers etc.

You wouldn't wash poo or vomit?

What would you do with it?! Do you throw clothes away if a child is sick?

So do you have D C?
AntarcticTern · 07/04/2022 16:32

Ask your DH what he'd do if you had a baby and the nappy leaked?

JustJam4Tea · 07/04/2022 16:33

More worried about the poor pup being in a crate with a poo - they don't like pooing in the beds....

IamMydaughtersMum · 07/04/2022 16:36

I have an incontinent cat who literally leaves a towel soaking wet. They go on two 90 boil washes with disinfectant and then the same again in an otherwise empty machine

I think you're husband is a bit OTT

myceliumama · 07/04/2022 16:38

Your poor DH would faint like a Victorian house wife if he realised what we have to do with reusable period pants and washable sanitary towels 😂

Aimee1987 · 07/04/2022 16:38

Your husbands nits. I used reusable nappies with DS, plenty of soiled clothing went in

TimmyHos · 07/04/2022 16:40

I had kids in cloth nappies for years, the washing machine can definitely handle shit.

It's a cat, so i expect very little was needed for that punishment.🤷🏼‍♀️😂

'The washing machine can cure your dirt problem. Unfortunately there's no cure for your idiot problem. 🙄'

Grin

Op maybe hubby will wash his poopy, skidmarked u/pants himself from now on? Hmm

LaurieFairyCake · 07/04/2022 16:45

Just when you think people couldn't get MORE batshit there are people who don't wash poo or vomit clothes in their machine

WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK A WASHING MACHINE IS FOR!!! HmmShockHmm

GraceandMolly · 07/04/2022 16:47

Your husband is crazy. If you do a hot cycle after, the machine will be clean.
Is he one of those that will throw pram away, because it’s wheel has driven through a poo?

SockFluffInTheBath · 07/04/2022 16:47

My dog is occasionally incontinent in his sleep. The poo gets flicked down the loo and the blankets get a hot wash. If I replaced my machine every time he pooed the bed I’d be bankrupt 🤣

MySecretHistory · 07/04/2022 16:49

Your puppy should not be pooing in their bed
It is highly distressing for them

You need to be more alert to its needs and let it out more regularly

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 07/04/2022 16:49

Obviously you burn the house down @lockdownlady871

HELLITHURT · 07/04/2022 16:49

Sell the baby I should imagine!
