A dating site where men could only register if their parents were dead.
Then all the women who match with them can guarantee that they will never have to put up with a mother in law !
I think this could make a LOT of money based on a lit of the threads on here!

I do think you're being unfair here OP. Perhaps there could be some sort of in-law prenup. You know, the MIL:

  • Must show sufficient interest at all times
  • But not actually ever want time with the son and family
  • Will be granted a ten minute audience with all newborn grandchildren from the far side of the room
  • Will be allowed to hold babies once they're old enough to consent to it by walking over and demanding "up!". Until then, the babies will be held by the mother or real maternal grandmother
  • MIL will be aware of every aspect of the family's life
  • But never ask a single question
  • And certainly never venture an opinion

Prospective grooms will be formally adopted by the mothers of the bride, relinquishing all official ties with their birth families.

Bernard Manning is this you?
Every mother on here could be a MIL one day.
Mine was wonderful.

AutoBan · 06/04/2022 22:16

Guardian Ghoulmates?

theDudesmummy · 06/04/2022 22:23

After dealing with awful PIL in first marriage, I am very sorry for his sake that 2nd DH's parents were dead before I ever met them, but goodness it saved a lot of shit (they would definitely not have liked me either, think about as opposite politics as you can have plus abusive to DH in childhood).

My MIL is brilliant.

Unlike this obnoxious threat.

Battyoldbitch · 06/04/2022 23:09

@MoiraNotRuby Coffin Todgers 🤣😂🤣

I do get why some think it’s a grim thread, but my VGSOH has overridden that concern.

Also loving OrPhans.

Battyoldbitch · 06/04/2022 23:15

Thrills without PILs

Can I add ...

When allowed to visit must only sit on the sofa, like a guest, and drinking the single cup of tea allowed but also simultaneously wash the dishes, cook dinner, and iron the laundry.

YES! Huge gap in the market - I’d sign up instantly 🙈☺️

No Apron Strings

ClaryFairchild · 07/04/2022 03:18

Well the MIL can be quite useful when they become an ex-MIL - every time the ex moans about something I point him
in her direction - she cares enough to listen, I now don't....lol!

ThinWomansBrain · 07/04/2022 03:40

what about dead DM but pushy step mother?

clpsmum · 07/04/2022 03:41

AlJalilia · 07/04/2022 04:21

Or sisters! Definitely no sisters!

Butchyrestingface · 07/04/2022 09:31

I think I have a fairly dark sense of humour but find this really distasteful.

I know this is supposed to be funny, but as the mother of two sons, I find it really sad.“

I’m a mother of a son too but it’s funny. It clearly doesn’t apply to me because I’m a stupendous MIL Grin

NeverDropYourMooncup · 07/04/2022 11:28

My ex specifically looks for younger women to date whose mothers died when they were quite young.

It makes it easier to abuse them. And, as he says, they're more likely to own a house outright.
