I'm currently ill with pneumonia and a kidney infection, I'm trying to distract myself with movies, does anyone have any recommendations?

Local Hero -- lovely, funny, feel-good film. Stunning Scottish scenery. Also has a young Peter Capaldi in it.
Dodgeball. Lots of laughs and Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller.

The Big Lebowski. Jeff Bridges, Steve Buscemi, John Goodman . Comedy thriller and one of my favourite films of all time.

If you're in the mood for something more serious -
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Montana

My favourite is The Talented Mr Ripley starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Cate Blanchett. It's a brilliant thriller set mainly in Italy in the late 1950s. It starts off as poor Tom Ripley (Damon) is standing in as a pianist at some posh recital in New York. He has borrowed a Princeton University blazer from the original pianist. This leads to him being asked to bring back the fabulously rich golden boy Dickie Greenleaf (Law) from his long term stay in Italy as Dickie's father thinks they were attended Princeton together.
When he gets to Italy, Ripley becomes obsessed with Dickie Greenleaf. The acting, scenery and plot are IMO just brilliant.

Another gripping film is The Changeling starring Angelina Jolie, I think based on true events. Set in 1920s/1930s. America. Her young son goes missing and the authorities insist they have found him but she is adamant that it's not him.
Hope you get better soon!

Forest Gump is one of my favourites. If your after comedy I saw We're The Millers the other day and it's very funny. I think Jennifer Aniston is underatted.

My faves to watch are The wedding singer, sliding doors, 4 weddings and a funeral, the princess bride and for stupidness drop dead Fred. For upbeat and emotional mamma Mia 2

More serious action films Romeo and Juliet - modern one With Clare danes, Armageddon, Jurassic parks, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, when I was in hospital for pre term labour (was fine in end) I watched all the marvels in time order via Disney
