To think I could lose ten lbs in a week

And what is the best method to do this please?
I have a special occasion and a special dress. I've just seen horrendous photos of me.
I look matronly in my outfit. I'm normally a 14 , well proportioned but am verging on a size 16 apple.
Hrt had done a number on me and I'm feeling so down and anxious about it.
I want to lose the weight long term and am determined but as a boost to start with, what do you recommend please ?

I would be happy even to reduce the awful bloating especially on my face. Having said that I've had a booze and carb filled weekend and feel and look desperate.

I’ve done before but I’m very overweight. Shake diet for a week. Not great for long term though, unless you have great determination

The only way you will come close to loosing that is by putting your body in severe deficit. Eat one day fast the next if you can't manage this eat one meal per day but not carbs. Walk 40 minutes a day. See were you are. Like everyone says the first week you will loose water. You could fast for the ten but it would require ultimate willpower I only managed to do it once but I have a lot of fat to loose so my body could afford to break it down. I found fasting for the first 3 always gave me a good boost but people recommend fasting salts to replace electrolytes.

I lost 10lbs in my first week on the Cambridge diet. It was awful and expensive but if you're desperate to shift some water weight for an event, that's the way to go.

As soon as you eat a carb, you'll look bloated again though.

Low carb, vegetarian, lots of mainly green veggies, eggs, some cheese, cream. Eat by way of two meals in a 6 hour window. Drink plenty of water.

Michael Mosley's 800 calorie per day diet
Plus:
walk - 10,000 steps at least per day
drink loads of water
no alcohol / treats / processed food
yoga
You might not lose 10lbs but you'll likely feel a huge amount better than you do today x

I've lost weight on every diet imaginable and every time I put more back on in the long run. Please be careful with any kind of shakes - I've done them too, but read an awful news story about a bride on Lighterlife for her wedding who died of heart failure. You should only do anything like that under medical supervision and in extreme cases eg losing weight for vital surgery.

I have dresses in my wardrobe that will look great when I've lost half a stone, a stone, three stone - they won't get worn. Buy a dress that fits now that you feel great in. Don't cram yourself into restrictive shapewear and spend the evening feeling uncomfortable and inadequate. Life is too short. Look after your body with kindness and be grateful for what it does for you now.

I'm on low carb high fat. In my first 10 days this stint I lost 5 pounds. Last year, 6 pounds in 10 days.in 2020, 10 pounds in 10 days. In 2019, 5 pounds in 10 days. In 2018, 7 pounds in 10.

Go on the low carb section and ask for help. You have to do it right, but I usually lose a big old belly wodge very fast as tge glycogen store depletes.

Fast 800 - 800 calories a day - plus 3 litres of water should lose 4-5kg....

Not pleasant though...

I would try a something like Lighter Life/Cambridge Diet. Low carb is good and you usually get a good loss on the first week, but not as good as shakes. However, it is awful and you won't feel great.

I would try the lemonade fast, there's loads of videos about it on YouTube. You could easily lose 10lbs in your first week. You could then so something more sustainable after the wedding.

Natural remedies to bloating are simple but boring..no booze, healthy low carbon sugar free diet.

Too many to tag but yes I have been so ill from covid, bed bound for 6 days now and not been able to eat much, alongside throwing up

Also consider if you're doing any weird diets this week, you might feel like shit and not even enjoy the occasion.

Just buy a different dress and focus on a healthy sustainable way to lose weight.

OP, everyone has told you it’s not possible. I would go for an outfit that gives the illusion of a slimmer body and professional make up.
