To feel a bit "off" about the retailer posting this meme?

It's from a well known clothing shop. I have no idea if I'm allowed to put the name.

They shared this on their Facebook page and captioned it with the first line in the picture. There's something about it that I don't like. Red flags shouldn't be ignored just because of how someone looks or how tall they are. It's almost as if they are making light of abusive traits in a partner.

AIBU to think it's irresponsible and in bad taste for a reputable company to be posting something like this?

Fully willing to be told that I'm being too uptight or overthinking it too much and need to wind my neck in!

Isn’t it talking about transgender people?

Federal · 21/03/2022 08:53

@Londoncallingtothefarawaytowns fair enough! Wink

I agree with OP, jokes about a woman trying to avoid red flags are in pretty poor taste given the level of violence against women at the moment.

HailAdrian · 21/03/2022 09:47

Women are screwed over by men so often, I think they are allowed to make light of it if they want.

lljkk · 21/03/2022 09:48

it's an injoke if you know the character/tv back story.

For someone like me it's nonsensical without the back story. It can't make any sense or mean anything.

PP are projecting their own fears .... !!!

It's way too unclear what on earth it means to me
